Well Constructed & Reasonably Cheap
This is a basic manifold box for in-ground sprinkler equipment. Nothing special here other than a well built box and lid. I don't think there are many differences between this one and those from other manufacturers.

Rain Bird Sprinkler Valve Box: Durable and Reliable for Home Irrigation
I recently picked up the Rain Bird Professional Series 10" Rectangular Sprinkler Valve Box for a sprinkler system overhaul, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Our flower bed adjacent to the front walkway was the perfect spot to bury the valves, and I needed a sturdy and reliable valve box to house them. After considering several options, this was the one I trusted most, thanks to my long history with Rain Bird products. While not all their items are the highest end in terms of quality, their dedication to home irrigation systems has never let me down—and this product was no exception.I was able to fit three sprinkler valves inside this box comfortably. It provided ample space for the valves while keeping the controller wire and PVC pipe completely concealed under the box’s cover, which was a priority for me. The box itself is made from durable plastic, and I appreciate that it's constructed from recycled materials, making it an environmentally friendly choice. I love that this box not only provides a practical solution to my irrigation needs but also contributes to reducing consumer waste. The design is both practical and stable. The bottom of the box is wider, which makes it more secure when placed in the ground. I was able to bury it with dirt and pack down the sides without worrying about it shifting or becoming unstable. The lid is a deep forest green and snaps into place with a satisfying click. There’s a small hole on one side that makes it easy to remove the lid when needed, which is a thoughtful feature.Once the box was installed, I found that it was safe to walk on, although I would recommend avoiding direct pressure if you’re particularly heavy. At about a foot tall, the box provides enough clearance to easily access and work with the valves. It’s the perfect size to allow for adjustments without taking up too much space in the flower bed.Overall, this sprinkler valve box met my expectations in every way. It's durable, practical, and well-designed. If you're overhauling your sprinkler system and need a solid, reliable valve box, I highly recommend the Rain Bird Valve Box. It’s a well-built product that’s easy to install and will stand up to the test of time.

Very sturdy, and probably larger than you think.
This is a really large box. The top is about 15" x 9½", and the bottom opening (the bottom is open) about 3" bigger in each direction. It is slightly more than 10" deep. The bottom being wider, and having a lip around it on the outside, makes it very unlikely to pull out, once the earth around it is reasonably compacted. As many such boxes, it has only two holes for running pipe(s) in or out: one hole on each end. Although it's not the hardest material to cut, being 100% recycled plastic. But it is quite thick and sturdy, so don't think you can just score it with a utility knife, or even fit it into the jaws of a standard "nibbler": you will need a drill, a hole saw or some other type of saw if the two included holes are not enough for you. Also note: the top, as you can see if you look carefully at one of the photos, is fastened on by a tab on each end, which (at least one) must be pulled in (toward the center of the box) to release the top. The hole is big enough to reach a finger in and pull the tab near it, but that is very much not easy to do. So the top is securely child-proof and generally adult proof. So if you want to ensure no-one can mess with it, it's a great choice. If you want easy or frequent access for yourself to the inside, maybe choose a different one. The top is quite sturdy, and I would expect it to hold up to someone stepping on it, up to at least 300 lbs.

Sturdy, top fits tightly, weather-resistant!
We needed a new cover box for one of our valve sets in the backyard and this Rain Bird unit is going to be perfect for us—once the ground thaws out enough to dig it into place! We bought this because of the great reputation Rain Bird has and because we had a similar unit, also made by Rain Bird, at another property and it lasted for years. We expect the same of this one.The top has a nice, tight fit and the deep walls are thick and look as if they’ll stay true to shape and not be affected by hot or cold temperatures. While tough, the material is not brittle in any way. I’ve left ours out and above ground in 20-degree weather for a few weeks before we install it and the cold has not affected the box.The construction is strong enough that an adult (200 pounds) can stand on the top of it and there’s no “give” or flex.

Useful for more than just irrigation
I will be using this for part of my gray water system to either hide some of the valves or to cover an outlet. In the meantime, I'm using it to keep a rat trap hidden from our dog. :-) This box is sturdy and will hold up. The only complaint I have is that the top is difficult to open and I'll have to modify it a bit.

Strong durable construction
Works great for housing a new water cutoff valve I can operate with my hands instead of fighting with the one out by the street supplied by the water company. Plenty large enough to get my hands on the lever.
