I purchased the Furinno Hermite Wood Desktop Book and Home Office unit for use in an open desk setup. After assembling it, I was very disappointed with the overall design and finish. All screws are fully visible once assembled, and there are no covers or design features that allow them to blend into the structure. The back of the unit is unfinished particle board, which creates a very unprofessional appearance when the desk is not placed against a wall. For buyers who plan to place this unit with the back against a wall, the unfinished backing may not be a major concern. However, the visible screws are still an issue and affect the overall look regardless of placement. The product photos do not clearly show the back of the unit or how visible the hardware would be after assembly. Based on the listing images, I expected a more finished and professional appearance. This was an important factor in my purchase decision. Because of the exposed particle board and visible hardware, this item does not meet expectations for quality or suitability in a professional workspace.

Small organizer that works. Great for our son’s small dorm room.

Price is good, so if you can live with the drawbacks, it could be a useful desktop organizer. Looks okay if the flaws to the coating, etc. can be concealed. That said, it suffers in contrast to the bamboo shelves and oak filing cabinets I'm using next to my desk. I wanted to get the organizer in white, not faux wood, but the white choice had a different configuration that wouldn't work for my needs. Be aware that the holes may not fully align. One screwed in so close to the edge, it pushed out a chunk of the particle board, which seems a bit crumbly. I glued it back on, but the screw keeps it from being flat. Fortunately, it isn't at the front of the unit. The coating on the particle board is so thin, it peeled off when removing a third of the stickers identifying each part. Screws aren't flush, but are mostly outside the storage area. However, four are located in the section shown for books and could do some damage if books aren't carefully taken in and out.

Don't waste your money!!!! Did not send enough screws......and it took 1.5 hrs . Since I had to use my own screws, wood was split. So it is very un sturdy. Also, if you want to return.....it is a Huge issue. Mine will go in the recycle bin....
