Have to say that this product works perfectly as an alert for a dementia patient getting out of bed but for one problem. Unlike the indication that the batteries for the transmitter unit only last about 6 weeks, we have found that the first battery lasted for only 5 DAYS before needing replacement. We then realised that if we “unhooked” the transmitter after patient arose in the morning and only re-connected it once they were back in bed at night, it would avoid repeated transmissions and ensure the battery lasted longer. It did, for all of 12 DAYS this time. So we’ve had this mat for less than 3 weeks and gone through 2 new batteries in that time. I’ve tried to contact the supplying company about the battery issue but at this moment in time, they are unavailable due to holidays. So although the mat works well be prepared for continuous battery replacement, which is a nuisance and could potentially fail to alert a Carer to the patient’s movements. For this obvious reason I have only given this product a 3 star rating.UPDATE: The supplier responded immediately on return from holiday, and supplied a new replacement within days, plus additional batteries for those used. Faulty mat to be returned for examination. Cannot fault the service from this company and if this new mat works correctly I would give it and the company supplying it 5 STARS.

Product delivered July 2020. Stopped working September 2020. Very unsatisfactory. Would not recommend this product. ( since resolved by seller)Also the unusual size batteries need to be replaced frequently and are difficult to source. The battery compartment is fiddly and difficult to open.Updated Oct 2020. Good customer service from the seller resolved the issue and got the Mat working again. so this review has been updated to reflect that.

Having read previous reviews I was concerned about the battery life. I have had no problem with it. I deactivate it when it is not needed, and plug it back in during the night, and it has not failed to wake me when needed. I love it, even though it means broken sleep for me!

This has given us an extra sense of security during the night when a loved one with Alzheimer's comes to stay. It is easy to place at the point you would be nervous for an individual to enter or leave and because the alarm is with you it doesn't upset or frighten the other party.

Really like this. My mum has dementia and it helps me to know when she gets out of bed. I purchased an extra plug in receiver so that I have one upstairs and downstairs. Easy to set up no problems so far.

My husband suffers from Dementia and Motor Neurone Disease. I bought this to place by the bed so that if I was in a different room I could be alerted whenever he moved. It buzzes the moment his feet touch the floor. Being wireless the ringer can be placed far out of his earshot so he doesn't hear a thing and it doesn't disturb or distress him in any way. A brilliant piece of equipment. Quite expensive but for me, well worth it for the peace of mind.
