An acquired taste but, once acquired ...
With so many reviews, without spoilers, it is difficult to add anything new, apart from my recommendation. Although on the surface there is humour of all kinds, some of which will shakes the entire body, some to raise a quiet chuckle and yet some to stimulate just the brainwaves, underlying all of this is an event which shook the world, changing it forever.Herein lies the genius of the programmes. It is very British humour populated with the stiff-upper lip, the willing Tommy, public school gunghoes, the rule-followers no matter what and mad generals. In many scenes, real events have been made into a living cartoon, its essence enlarged, made large-than-life.Followers of the series will not forget easily the final scenes waiting to go over the top and final, inevitable blowing of the whistle; there were over 15 million deaths and 20 million wounded ranking it among the deadliest conflicts in human history. In one, initially comic, scene these few represent the many. British understatement at its best.An acquired taste but certainly worth sitting at the table.

Poignant and brilliant
Fantastically funny series.. Such a sombre and terrible thing as war used as a backdrop for Cat-pain Slack-Bladders razor wit. Not only does this series make a subliminal and sometimes downright blatant social statement about the utter futility of war, it expertly utilises this genre to showcase its tremendous comedic writing and good o'l British humour.. Six of the best.. Trousers down!

As per usual good customer service and prompt delivery correctly packaged
As per usual good customer service and prompt delivery correctly packaged. This is the last in the brilliant series, so well written that some moments are in danger of being too true to be funny. Still you have to have it if you're a Blackadder fan as it has dozens of the best lines, most outrageous similes, gloriously played running gags and cunning plans - you won't forget about the pigeon, the name on the bullet and many more

Buy it for Ryk Mayall and Adrian Edmondson's characters.
I'm not really a fan of Rowan Atkinson but this is very funny. The episode 'Private Plane' is the best and Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson outshine everybody in their hilarious roles.

Tears of Laughter
We got this to watch with our teenager over lockdown. We needed to some comedy to make us more cheerful. Having seen the series before many years ago when it was on TV, my husband and I still found it hilariously funny. Our 14 year old also found it belly achingly funny! Thoroughly recommend especially when you need a bit of laughter In your lives!

Critically praised series
Blackadder Season 4 has always been my favourite, and the last episode is pitch perfect, with tragedy and comedy hand in hand. The final frames when the battle field turns to a field of poppies is one that I have long remembered.Critically praised I would recommend it. The comedy is typical Blackadder with an excellent cast.I have it both as a DVD but now also on a download. The download is excellent quality and nothing is lost.

A great final series to a great tv series
Blackadder set in the trenches of ww1 . This is a tough call to produce a comedy during this time period, but this has been done brilliantly and with respect to the time period. The final moments of the last episode is probably one of the best endings to any tv series, wont say and more to anyone who hasnt seen it, anyone who has will know what I mean.

Comedy at it's best
It arrived on time and as per the description so no complaints there.A top watch based on the first world war and i have to say that this is comedy in it's element and Rowan Atkinson and the crew do an outstanding job in keeping you amused. A good investment and given that it's twenty odd years since it was first shown on the TV it still does not date with it's comedy punchlines!!
