These days when you hear the name Mariah Carey, the first thing people say is either 'ooh what a diva' or 'i hate her screaming'. One of my friends hated Mariah but had never even listened to her music, and guess what, this friend of mine is now a massive fan of Miss Carey.It is such as shame that despite being the best selling female artist of all time, she is still branded with those statements.This collection features all of MC's hits from 1990's Vision Of Love, to 2001's Against All Odds with Westlife.The collection features all songs Mariah has ever released including 15 US #1's and 2 UK #1's (Without You and Against all odds)In my opinion, I think the best tracks are...Vision of Love, Someday, Make It Happen, Without You, Fantasy, Always be my baby, Honey, My All, Heartbreaker...well of all them really!Thanks for reading my review and I beg of you, forget your first impressions of Mariah Carey, and give this a go.

In 1990 Mariah appeared on the scene and brought to the music industry an artist who not only posseses and amazing voice but who can write the most perfect songs.Mariah's debut single "Vision Of Love" has breathtaking vocals and is a very deep song, a US number one rightfully. "Love Takes Time" is a sad an beautifulk song with true emotion in her voice and was another US number one, "Someday" has very strong vocals and great lyrics, so perfect and yes it was another number one(US). "I Don't Wanna Cry" is another song from her debut album and is very classy and meaningful, it's so beautiful."Without You" is the best cover version in history, her voice is so amazing on this track and the song would sve been enough to earn a gold star. The ballads are where Mariah shines and this shows so well on the stunning "My All" which is so lingering and deep, "Hero" is simply outstanding and is my favourite song, the voice, the piano, the lyrics, it just blows you away, OUTSTANDING!A few years into her career Mariah started to embrace hip hop music and got rappers to give her songs new life, it worked so well and saw her finally embrace who she is. "Honey" is a fantastic floor filler and is so funky with the sweet and strong vocals and a tasteful rap for flavour. "Heartbreaker" is phenomenal and is the best song to include rap elements ever in my opinion, Jay Z's voice suits so well with Mariah's and the rap is very smooth and cool. Also there is "Sweetheart" which gives out a good hip hop ibe.The unforgettable "Dreamlover" is my second all time favourite song and i ever grow tired of it, her voice hits some beautiful high notes and even the simple backing singing has amazing musical life. The club friendly "Fantasy" is fabulous with vocals to set your heart on fire and send you to the dance floor, a Mariah classic and you must hear the remix sometime, fantastic. Mariah covered the Jackson Five classic "I'll Be There" with Trey Lorenz which is so beautiful and melts my heart. I love "Always Be My Baby", its fantastic and so uplifting, i can't get enough. The power ballad "One Sweet Day" with Boyz 2 Men is remarkable and is sung with such emotion.The album tops Mariah "Number Ones" album easily because it includes what are genually her best songs and not just the number ones. "Underneath The Stars" and "Forever" were not massive hits but they are breathtaking songs.This album is the story of the greatest career in history. Mariah puts her passion for music into all her songs and it creates somrthing that contributes massively to the essence of music and will be influencing many artists for years to come. A FANTASTIC ALBUM.

This album has something for everyone on it,for those who love power ballads ['Without you' and 'Hero'],and also people who like the dancier side to Mariah ['Honey and 'Heartbreaker'],this album is truly an excellent achievement for Mariah's 11 years in the musical spotlight.Mariah's first album was self titled and that is were it all took of for her,next was 'Emotions' which was an excellent album but the real breakthrough came in 1993 when 'Music box' was released! everyone fron single mothers through to high powered lloyers were listening to this album all through that year,next up was 'Daydream'which brought us the massive worldwide hit 'Fantasy' and was also a top seller.There was a 2 year break before Mariah came back into music and what a return it was no one could have known that she would return with such an extraordinary song which was 'Honey' produced by none other that Puff Daddy,the song made Mariah an even bigger international star,'Honey' was taken from Mariah's album 'Butterfly'which was released in 1997 and a massive hit album,then Mariah gave us her No.1's album which the title says it all really.Mariah then made another huge comeback with possibly her biggest ever hit in 1999 the song titled 'Heartbreaker' featured Jay z and was a No.1 every where,the song came from Mariah's album 'Rainbow' which also includes the duet with Westlife of the Phil Collins hit 'Against all odds'.Mariah keep up the great work.
