I purchased this for hot cocoa mix. Before making the mix I tasted it dry milk mixing it with ice water. It actually tasted like milk with no after taste.

I definitely recommend this if you like to make your own homemade yogurt. Adding milk powder makes the finished product so much thicker and creamier. It's a must! The fact that this is whole milk and organic is what makes me choose this over other brands. To make homemade yogurt you want some fat for the best texture and it's tough to find organic milk powders out there.

We routinely use non-fat dry milk, such as Sanalac, or even the Walmart value brand, in creamed asparagus on toast, or chipped beef. However, for some dishes, I thought the whole milk would give more flavor. Well, this milk did give more flavor, but it was not what we wanted. In fact, the milk flavor overpowered the chipped beef cream sauce. We ended up throwing the chipped beef away.I am hoping that the problem was that the cream sauce did not have enough other flavors to balance the flavor of the dry milk. I intend to try the powder again in a cake, hoping that the other flavors will overcome the milk's distinct taste.There is nothing inherently wrong with this milk's taste and I am not saying that others might not like it. It is more a matter of what you are used to. We drink skim milk almost exclusively so maybe our disliking this milk, and liking the non-fat dry milk, is a reflection of that.However, if you do want to have dry milk on hand, try the much cheaper, grocery store brands, and keep it stored in the freezer. The quart packets of dry milk are especially nice because there is not enough opportunity for the packets to attract rogue flavors and freezing the packets extends their shelf life.The only other caveat is to avoid Carnation dry milk powder which also has a distinct taste which we find unpleasant.

I have been struggling with milk products for the past year or so. Tried every type of milk (liquid) on the store shelves and it all gave me indigestion. This Costco organic dry milk has saved my day. I now enjoy a cup of tea, oatmeal with milk, etc. I like the taste and smell of the powdered milk, its a rich milky taste. A 1.91 lbs tin goes a long way. On occasion, I've caught one of my kids helping themselves to my milk and they like the taste.

I love this product.It disolves better than any other milk product i have found.it is whole milk ,organic and tastes great .So disapointed i have only found it at costco one time .
