These are really nice knives. They are extremely sharp, a good variety and look great to match our other Joseph Joseph kitchen accessories. Hopefully they last as our scoville knives before only lasted a year and a bit before the handles began to fall apart.I would not pay 180 pounds but on a deal at just 87 i am pleased with their value.

This looks great in our kitchen, its nice and stable and the locking mechanism is easy to use and doesn't require massive hands. The knives themselves are worth the asking price alone, they're fantastic quality, well weighted with secure grips, amazing blades and cover every job. Just be cautious when putting the knives back in the slots as I can imagine you could scratch the opaque surface of the knife block quite easily with the tip of a blade.

Like me, most people buying these are going for the safety feature which works really well in my opinion.The knives themselves are actually really good. Probably not chef quality (like some dimwit was asking for in another review) but not far off. I do a lot of cooking and use these daily and had no issues using them. They're really sharp, the handles are comfortable and they're easy to clean. Happy customer.

these are perfect for my new kitchen, well designed, the base in which the knives sit is well engineered and the knives are sharp and practical. The block lock makes them safe and hard for children to remove. highly recommend.

I ordered this knife block set after having ordered 4 other sets which I've returned for one reason or another - either base too light, or knives too large or not sharp enough or took up too much room. I'd almost given up when I saw this Joseph Joseph set. Bear in mind I'd already returned one JJ set because I felt it was dangerous as the knives could (and did) fall out. This set is still colour co-ordinated (knives match to colours on top of block) but has an easy to use locking mechanism to keep children safe. The knives appear very sharp and the weight of both block and knives seems good. My only negative so far is that I wish the paring knife was smaller. I probably will never need either of the two large wide knives but a couple of small knives would probably have been more useful for a domestic kitchen. So far so good and hopefully I'll be keeping this set and not returning it. I would like to say at this point 'Thank You Amazon' for excellent customer service for enabling free returns and thank you to Joseph Joseph for manufacturing (at a reasonable price) the nearest to perfect knife set I could find .

Great set of knives with a safety mechanism. Very sharp, good sturdy handles and good quality blades. I really love my new set of knives.

Love these knives and the safety feature. Baffled my partner fir a bit, which was very amusing. The mechanism is quite stiff, so little hands don't have the strength to lift it. Would like to see the same design filled with steak knives, so they too can be secured.

These knives are fantastic, really ergonomic handle and nicely balanced when chopping or cutting.
