Just buy it.
This knife is flawless. It is extremely sharp right out of the package! I was able to shave part of my face smooth with this knife to test its sharpness. I can honestly say that it is literally, razor sharp. The handle is nice enough, but a very simple plastic. The sheath is relatively cheap plastic as well. It's clear the manufacturer was trying to provide an extremely high quality blade for a very good price. So i imagine they cut costs on the things that don't really matter much and passed the savings on to their customers. I have another knife I use when I go outdoors. I love it! But it cost me 3x as much, and it's not as sharp. The point is, this knife is superior to an already superior knife. If you can go without a fancy handle or leather sheath, this is the best option I've come across, by far!

Great Budget Knife
Wish it had 90 degree spine from factory. Not full tang; don't baton this thing. Overall very good knife. Easy to sharpen and holds edge well. (Positives are somewhat price relative.) Comes with sturdy plastic sheath. Also comes in bright colors so it's harder to lose on the ground. Some knife snobs may turn their nose up, but this is a serviceable budget knife for anyone.

It might just become your favorite knife
I've owned a pair of the classic wooden handled Mora knives for years and love them. Those feature a high carbon steel blade, and I mostly use them in place of what a lot of people use a utility knife with a straight razor. In other words, for tearing down boxes, opening bags of feed/cat/dog food, cutting zip ties, opening clamshell plastic packages, and so on. They are also great for wood carving, and as a lightweight no frills knife to take on hiking/camping/hunting trips. So because of my positive experience with Mora, I decided to give this stainless Mora Companion a chance, thinking that it would perhaps be more suitable for occasional use in the kitchen, and or around wet environments. It did not disappoint. The handle on these knives are gripper and more comfortable than the wooden handle on my 'classic' Mora, and the sheath design is also improved. The stainless blade does not hold an edge quite as long as the high carbon steel alternative, but of course the trade-off is that it's more suitable for use in wet environments. This blade is also slightly thicker than the blades on my older Mora knives, but it seems to slice just as well.Speaking of blade thickness, the trend with 'outdoor knives' seems to be very thick blades, which are good for certain things such as splitting logs for a fire, but on knives of this size (about a 4" blade) I certainly prefer the Mora design philosophy of having a thinner blade, which is typically better for slicing, cutting, and wood carving. Another thing I love about Mora knives is that the lower price means that you won't be tempted to 'baby' it, as you might with some expensive alternatives. Give it a try and it might just become your favorite knife.

Give it a try!
This is absolutely a great buy - There are knives 3 times as expensive that will not give you the performance of this knife. The brand Morakniv is becoming a popular brand with my friends and I. It is hard to come across a great product for such a wonderful cost. For this knife specifically I am using it for a backpacking companion knife. This is not a tactical knife with a lot of bells and whistles..but that's why I use it for the backpacking. I personally backpack a great deal during the fall season so I enjoy the fact that you can purchase this knife with several color options. It is nice to have a knife that stands out in case it was to fall on the ground. It is a great size (not too big / not too small). Great handle and my favorite part is the sheath - Very durable and simple. The belt loop is great. You can snap it down on a belt nice and smooth and it wont come off. The other great thing about these knives is the ground on the blades. I love cold steel and spyderco and some other brands but those brands are extremely difficult to re-sharpen. The grind on the mora knives make it a snap to re-sharpen. I can probably talk a lot longer regarding this knife but what the hell... for the cost - give it a try!

Good Knives
I have a number of Morakniv sizes and colors, both stainless and carbon blade, and I have always been pleased with them.I use them exclusively in the kitchen and around the house, so don't know how they might hold up in the bush or at the campsite. But I would bet they do fine for light to medium work. They stay sharp and are easy to clean, and take a touch up sharpening well. And they have one of the best, ergonomic handles I have experienced.Only thing people comment on is the sheath, which is plastic? and of a sort of weird shape compared to what a lot of people envision. But again, they seem substantial, hold the knife well, and are certainly waterproof. So, I do recommend these for the light to medium tasks both indoors and outdoors. And also for the good value they offer in a general utility knife.

About the Sheath
This is a very nice knife. This is my first Mora with the plastic sheath. I had always thought that the sheath would be rubbery and flexible and that the knife would be held in by friction and the stickiness of the sheath material. No, the sheath is a hard, rigid plastic and the knife clicks securely into place. There is a little thumb rest so you can push the sheath with your thumb while extracting the blade. With a little practice it is no issue. I had also assumed that it would hang on your belt with a closed loop on the sheath. Instead it is like a clip which allows you to put your belt on first, then hang the sheath. Or to remove the sheath without taking your belt off. Both of which you can do with the knife in the sheath. The clip is well designed with retention in mind. I don't think you would have to worry much about the sheath coming off of your belt. Additionally, the belt clip has a cutout to hang it over a button, for quick removal/attachment, like you might find on a tool belt. Not sure how else to describe that. The color is mostly as it shows in the photo. A bright, almost glowing green. Not exactly discreet, but should stand out against most natural greens (grass, leaves, etc) if you should drop it.

Wow, what a bargain!
I live in the countryside so I would use a knife a fair bit for different chores. I saw this and thought I'd give it a go, although for the price I wasn't expecting too much.Boy was I wrong, because this is a fantastic knife, especially considering the price. The stainless steel blade is really sharp, it's lightweight, yet the ergonomic 'feel' is perfect. It clicks in place solidly in the supplied belt scabbard and for the price it's a steal. I've been an Amazon customer for years and have bought hundreds of items, but for me considering the price/quality of the knife it's the best bargain out there.Once I received it and tried it out, I immediately ordered another.
