check your battery specs - not the same
check your battery details (magnifying glass may be required), most of the batteries on Amazon and the internet are NOT the same as what we have as original. Original specs - 8400mah, 11.1volt, 90wh - if it doesn't have ALL THREE it wont give you the hours you are use to. It also seems there is a 10-20% chance that any battery you get will be dead or die quickly, that's just the way it's going to be for all of us with an older laptop wishing for glory days of a full charge and around 4 hours (sigh!). I've seen a few on the web that make the claim as original and they are all $150 or more, plus shipping. For me, I'm just going to keep getting the lower priced ones until one holds at least a couple hours. I can buy two of these for cheaper than an original and swap them out if I want. This one was dead, trying again...And remember just because it says "Dell" on the battery doesn't mean it's theirs especially since they don't sell them anymore, that's just print on plastic. My original doesn't have Dell anywhere on it I can see.

This is such a waste of my time, I think I lost money when it comes to a month ago I wanted to purchase a battery to replace the
*** UPDATE 6-21-2015*** Battery is now dead, their half charging replacement only lasted 4 months. Thanks for nothing seller, GARBAGE SELLER! WASTED MONEY Sent first battery charged to 59%. Seemed interested in fixing it so they sent me another one. Following their instructions of powering down, removing battery and powering up to set in with no battery. Then powered it off normally of course all good every time. Installed the 2nd now battery and it only charges to, let me look to be exact, 37%. Just keeps saying charging for both, but they top out. 1 at 59% and the second now at 37%. This is such a waste of my time, I think I lost money when it comes to a month ago I wanted to purchase a battery to replace the one that came with it.

since things like longevity and overheating are key qualities
I'm going to give this item 4 stars, kinda on spec. It is, after all a battery, and there is no way to fully rate it until it has run its lifetime, since things like longevity and overheating are key qualities. It arrived in timely fashion, it is the right item, it fits, it charges readily, it holds power for an appropriate length of time, it does not yet seem to over heat. About everything one can ask of a battery pack at this point, a month after installation.

Dies without warning
I bought this about a year and a half ago, and haven't used my laptop very often since then. I use it about once a month, and I always have to keep it plugged in.This replacement battery seems to charge well, and works well for a short time, but as soon as it discharges to about 45%, the laptop suddenly dies and won't start again. The battery is dead.If it wasn't for this problem, the battery would work ok, albeit for a very short time.

I do not recommend this battery
I purchased this replacement battery for my Dell XPS L702X and it would initially last about 2.5 to 3 hours with average use. However, I've had it for about 8 months now and it doesn't last more than about 1 to 1.5 hours. Additionally, the DELL battery meter seems unable to correctly detect the charge level and so the battery dies without warning at charges much higher 50%. As a result, my laptop has been repeatedly turned off improperly and I have resorted to keeping it plugged in at all times now. I do not recommend this battery.

Died after 9 months
Fully charged to dead in 10 minutes on XPS 15" under light load. Obviously the warranty is good only for 6 months. Was OK-ish while It lasted, started at about 3 hours running time and degraded to 90 minutes after 8 months, then declined fast to 10 minutes within a month.Better cost-value that Dell but that's only a comment on the rip-off prices Dell charges. Definitely much better alternatives out there at comparable prices.

DOES NOT REPLACE L702X
This battery unfortunately does not replace the L702x battery. It states it clear as day on the back of the battery that it only replaces L701X. Zoom in on the product picture and take a look for yourself before you waste your money. I bought it because the title says that it does support L702X and never thought to look in detail at the picture. It did not work with my computer. Very disappointed with this company.

Got what I paid for
I have one of the compatible models and thought I'd try an inexpensive battery option since both of my older batteries are functional but drain quickly. This battery works well for a while if I've already booted up. If I run on this battery for more than 45 minutes or so, however, my PC is likely to immediately shut down. Also, Windows will not boot with this battery; it will just shut down. Unfortunately it's just more hassle than it's worth.
