bought this hair chalk set and it’s absolutely brilliant! The colours are bright, fun, and show up so well, even on darker hair. My kids loved experimenting with different shades and styles, and it washes out really easily with shampoo, which makes it perfect for parties, dress-up, or just a bit of creative fun at home. The sticks are easy to apply, not messy, and feel safe for little ones to use. Such a great gift idea for girls (and boys!) aged 5–15 – my children were over the moon. It’s more likely a 3 stars product for durability on the hairs. But I admire the genius product for a friendly kids hair products. Easy to use, wet the area and apply the colour. The colours are more vibrant on light hair. I tried to put some hairspray to fix the colours but the hair got damped a bit and the colour faded. Instead, I used a water spray first, used a gel to model the style, them I used an hairspray and blow dry. Finally, I could use the colours. 2 techniques you can do with the chalk clamped on it or use one side where the colour is and rub or slide it on the hair. That was for my boys hair.

Great product. I used it on both of my children’s hair, unfortunately on one of them (very light blonde hair) it didn’t wash out until about 12 washes! The other child with a darker blond it came straight out. The powder can come off on light coloured clothes but does wash out so no issue.

Good fun and easy to use. Be careful as the red still hasn’t washed out of my blond hair after washing everyday for over a week. It’s faded to a dull pink but noticeable. Daughter happy with them

This hair chalk is fine, but the applicator is very problematic. If you're used to chalk that is a pencil or crayon design, or you're used to the comb-in style of hair chalk, I have to warn you -- this is a LOT different, and a lot more difficult to apply properly more than once. You basically get a "compact" made of cheap plastic. On one side is a small pan of color that is matched up on the other side by a sponge. The idea is that you "clip" the applicator around a section of hair, drag it down the length of the hair, and it colors it. Well sort of. I experienced about half the time the color would apply, and about half the time it felt like the sponge was removing color. I couldn't get even stripes at all, and finally wore down the color in the pan to the point that I couldn't use the remaining chalk, as it was all up in the sides of the pan. It was way more hassle than it was worth, and I'm not buying this "clip together" style of application again. The color itself is fine, but the way you're supposed to apply it just did not work for me, and I ended up wasting what I felt was too much of the chalk to get the coverage I wanted. I don't think I would recommend this, but I would recommend the crayon/pencil style applicator with no hesitation.

The point is that it is easy to wash, and it will fall off after washing, and it will not dye the clothes.

It took me a second to figure out how to open them, and then of course I did it wrong. In the first picture I did it on dry hair. Which is fine with me, because although I want to be a little daring with my hair, I don’t want to stand out. My granddaughters would prefer the brighter, more vibrant colors. I went to the listing online and saw there are directions there to half wet your hair first, use hair spray and a blow dryer. This will make the colors brighter. My second picture shows blue on the right that I did in 1/2 wet hair. (It was actually brighter than it looks here) On the left it’s the same but I brushed it. I did not use hairspray on it. So if you want it really bright, use hairspray and don’t brush it! It does leave a little bit of powder in the sink, but it’s easy to wipe out. I don’t know if it’s worth $10 because I don’t know how long it will last, but I do know my granddaughters and I will have fun finding out!

Got this hair chalk set for my nieces as Birthday present. She love the present so much and try it with her friends. The color obviously works better on her friend's lighter hair. On her own dark hair, we had to apply more. However, other than that it works really well and had a light scent which smell good. Before color the hair, we spayed some water on the hair to make the color stay better. It does make the hair a bit stiff you can't really run your fingers through your hair until it's been on for a while ,which make your hair definitely feel like it's been hair sprayed, but once it sets there isn't a problem and worth it. The colors didn't dye anything around it, other than my hands, and it is easy to wash off. Overall, recommend this temporary hair chalks if you're looking for something creative to do or just want a new look.
