I purchased this mattress pad in the King Size. My dogs are able to get on my bed and whether they have wet paws or have occasional accidents, this has been one of the few brands that prevent water from leaking to my mattress. I also like the top fabric, it is soft and doesn't make the a crunchy plastic noise when you sleep. I have washed the mattress protector per the label instructions and the fabric still holds up well. Be sure to never use high heat when drying or the protectant will deteriorate.

For around two years I had an inexpensive waterproof mattress protector. It was a crinkly piece of slippery plastic attached to the bottom of a regular mattress pad. Every time I rolled over the mattress pad would slip on the slick plastic and so would the fitted sheet. The result was that almost every morning I would have to re-fit my fitted sheet because it had come off the mattress. In addition, at least three times a week I would have to do not only the fitted sheet but the mattress protector as well.Sleeping at night with that old, inexpensive mattress protector was not very comfortable either. Every time I moved there was that crinkly sound of the plastic. The plastic did not breathe so I often woke up damp in the middle of the night. Perhaps I didn't read the fine print, but I expected this was going to be a complete covering with a zipper or similar encasement. I like it just fine and like the other reviews mentioned, it doesn't make plastic rustling noises but it fits like an ordinary mattress pad with elastic over the sides/ edges of the mattress, like the bottom sheet, and I wouldn't have bought it if I'd have known/understood that. However, we are using it and it works as advertised and appears to be of good quality.

Even though the vast majority of the reviews were very positive, I worried about the few that described the mattress protector as noisy, slippery, or sized incorrectly. I did not want a protector that was simply vinyl, because it would have been subject to those criticisms. Much to my relief, I found this item to be perfect. Even though it protects against leakage, somehow the manufacturer has come up with a material that still breathes and absolutely does NOT slip or make any noise. Because it breathes, it is far better than the pure plastic protectors that are very uncomfortable to sleep on, trapping heat and reflecting it back. It is waterproof in the same sense that Gore-Tex is--it breathes, allowing vapors to pass through without allowing water molecules to pass through. As for it being "flimsy", I suspect that those negative reviews came from people who though they were buying a mattress pad, rather than a protector. This protector is the perfect compromise between the absolute water barrier provided by a plastic sheet and the comfort of a protector that breathes and does not crinkle or slip around like plastic. I share the views of the vast majority of reviewers: this is a great product.

I purchased this specific protector after reading the reviews. I had been looking into buying one for my allergies. I have never used one , ever, so I needed one that I wouldn't notice underneath me. Maybe this would be good for young children or people who are used to sleeping on them but for me it doesnt work because I notice the difference when I am moving around in bed. I removed it from the bed but since it seems well-made, I decided to keep it for future use in case I have a change of heart.

Because I have allergies, and a tendency to spill things, I wanted a waterproof protector to cover my mattress and new mattress topper. This easily covers the two together, which totals more than 12 inches. It appears as if it would cover mattresses that are at least a couple of inches thicker than mine as well. I searched dozens of different covers and read hundreds of reviews before I bought this one. I am totally delighted with my purchase! It does not feel at all as if I am sleeping on a plastic cover (it is vinyl-like on one side, with terry cloth on the top), and is not hot to sleep on. Other than the fact that I sleep much better, I cannot tell that I have a waterproof cover over the mattress. I have not yet spilled anything or washed the cover, but will post another review if I have any complaints after doing so.

I purchased to put on my 2.5yr old's "new" bed. Moved from toddler bed to full size and I wanted to protect the mattress from potty accidents. The fit seems a little large, but I'm not too worried about for now. The material is soft and is completely lined with a waterproofing barrier, which is what I wanted for a decent price. I was looking at department stores and other home stores the price is doubled or more. This is perfect.

Have had this protector on my mattress for some time. It was put to the test last night when my son wet the bed. It held back the urine with help from a crib pad but the smell bled through to the mattress. So if you get one of these, buy two and have a backup plan for major accidents.
