BOYSHORT FOR WOMEN of ALL ages...
UPDATE: January 21, 2021 ** * Five years ago I wrote the original review and I am STILL wearing these wonderful boy shorts EVERY SINGLE DAY! ***What worries me is they are becoming harder to find. Amazon is the only place that I can find this particular short. Kohl's used to carry them, but not any longer. ***I came on Amazon today to buy more. Throughout the past five years, I continually check Amazon' s prices. Today I found certain colors at a fantastic price so I ordered a dozen pair. Yup, a dozen. That is how much I love these and how afraid that I won't find them someday. ***Since my original review, In have lost weight. ***My new measurements are: 138 pounds, 28" waist and 37" hips, 28" waist or size 6 jeans. I am wearing some boy shorts that I have had for years!! (they are too big, but are in great shape!) ;) They take forever to wear out! They do start to pill and a few pairs have unraveled at the hems, but not bad, and that is after a LOT of wear! ***I stand by my original review. ***This is the ONLY panty that I own! ***These are SO COMFORTABLE! ***They don't roll on the legs or the waist! *** Make sure to buy your appropriate size. Order by hip size! *** They wash beautifully and last for years!!!! UPDATE: February 5, 2019 **I wrote this review 3 years ago!? Or close to it! **I STILL buy\wear only these panties. I am throwing away the first pairs I bought years ago. They still fit, they don't ride up, BUT the seams are unraveling and I have trimmed off as much as possible! I am impressed with how well these hold up! ** I know I have said that I only wear this panty, but I really have no other panties, brand or style. Only Maidenform- boyshort. ** The last time I purchased these on Amazon (I bought 5 pair) was a year ago, and I am SHOCKED at the price now! Last year I paid around 8.00 per pair, now I am paying 10.00! Wow! ** My original review still holds... EXCEPT I have gained 4 pounds!! Ha! Still a size 7 panty! And I love them and won't wear anything else, but you know that by now. ~These are comfortable! I am 5'7, 158 pounds, wear 10-12 pants, waist is 30, hips are 40 and I ordered a size 7 and they fit PERFECT! NO ONE likes to give measurements but those are the reviews I look for so I hope that info helps! ~These are very stretchy, so if you wear a size 12 like me, do not order a size larger than 7- they have TONS of stretch! ~The inside seam comes two inches on the thigh, and the waist hits one inch below the belly button. ~They have not rolled on me in the waist band or the legs. ~They DO show lines when I wear leggings or tighter jeans- and unless you have no fat at all they will show a bump line. They are perfect for baggier style pants, slacks that do not cling and dresses. These ARE NOT a firm panty which holds fat in. They are a basic boys short for women of all ages who are looking for comfort, but not support. **ANOTHER silly reason I like these... The back band of these boy shorts has a great feature... ~On the band above the sizing information, Maidenform has sewn 3 lines in the band. I would call the lines heavily sewn or even embroidered. They are literally three lines that look like.... l l l..... < that. This has helped me when I want to find these panties in a drawer full of dark underwear with the same look and material! I just feel the band and when I feel the 3 heavy sewn lines, I know that they are my Maidenform GENIUS panties. *I have NO IDEA why those three lines are sewn on the Genius boy shorts as none of my other Maidenform undies have this.

Breathable, Comfortable & Practical for Not Just Your Wallet But Your Delicate Parts
Excellent quality product + excellent price!! Which is why I'm reviewing it now b/c I came on here to purchase a handful more. I purchased a size 6 in the nude color a couple months ago & have fallen in love. I'm 5'5, weigh 135 lbs, pear shaped, small waist & big bottom (my hips are double my waist size. Seriously) I also have thick thighs, no inner thigh gap situation here. Which is why I rarely wear panties & stick to my Hanky Panky g-string. I am not in the mood to be adjusting my undies throught the day. I also life in FL, where that the heat just adds to unfortable thigh rubbing when wearing a skirt/dress. And these are the best solution! Esp if you have a maxi dress or something in the realm of jersey cotton; which always makes my booty look like it's doing a wave everytime I take a step. These shorts give just enough structure to pull it all together & keep it classy not trashy, so I wear these a lot for work; pencil skirts, etc. Or the wknd chiffon type dresses that are sheer in the right light, slinky maxi dresses, etc. they totally camouflage & you can't see lines. Unlike spanx, you don't have to peel them off your body & sweat your ass off, all while being uncomfortable from how constricting they are. The material/fabric is similar to a great pair of high end leggings or those flexy shirts you wear under a dress shirt to hide your bra lines. Flexible, breathable & just the right length in the thigh/leg area as well as your waist. I esp appreciate that they breath, since normally I can only wear cotton underwear. No rolling of the fabric or pinching. These are by far the most comfortable & well fitting, most useful pair of panties I've ever bought! I wouldn't recommend wearing them under workout leggings, prob see the lines. But then again, why would you want to ladies? That's wayy too much fabric, between your legs, plus then you add in the sweat from your workout..You're going to suffocate your vaj-jay! Let your girl breath ;)

Big Butts Rejoice!!
Been on a years-long hunt for panties that will cover my cheeks! I’m 5’7” and around 175-185lbs of hourglass chunk. I had a kid 1.5 years ago, leaving my hourglass a but thicker at the waist, but it’s luckily still a tad smaller than my ~45 inch hips/butt circumference. My butt is a real unit and it refuses to leave my panty lines alone! I have tried ALL KINDS of briefs and hipsters and low rise and high rise, all a JOKE to the powers of my crack’s magnetism. Boyshorts (the Hanes cotton multipacks a la Target) were no match either, so i deemed them only appropriate for straight-up-and-down builds— athletic gals. This is what any bathing suit fit guide online will instruct you as well. So i really gambled with these Genius Boyshorts and whew doggy! I hesitantly got an 8/9, the largest size, just KNOWING it would be too tight across my bum. Wrong. These are like a pantyhose material— you can see through the taught parts. But they aren’t constricting at all. Another review said the “hem” of the legs is tighter than the upper leg, which is true, but not uncomfortably so, and i was used to it within 30 minutes, even in 100 degree Alabama weather, at a friggin outdoor festival. My Addidas soccer shorts slide around over the panties deliciously AND they don’t show when i sit down OR when my thighs inevitably devour my inner shorts legs (groan). Per the pregnant review pics by another, the waist stretches a ton just like the rest of the item, so these will fit ALL body types. NO WEDGIE. NO ROLL DOWN. ALL slippy, slidey, COMFORT.

No cotton in the crotch
These fit as expected. They are very, very stretchy. However, there is no cotton in the crotch area. It appears it's made from the same stretchy polyester-like material as the rest of the panty. And a panty liner does not adhere to the fabric - I tried. The material is not the soft microfiber of some other Maidenform panties. These feel like thick pantyhose. They don't feel particularly comfortable in the crotch, nor do they seem healthy. I'm surprised there's a woman out there that doesn't need a little bit more absorption and breathability in this area. I gave them a 4 because they do fit, but I thought I should write a review in case this information helps someone else.

UPDATED REVIEW - went from 5 enthusiastic stars to a tepid 3...
These are amazing - comfortable, and they genuinely don't ride up or shift around... I don't know how that's even possible, but they don't. I have never worn boyshorts that were this comfortable before - they ALWAYS seem to be moving around. But on these the legs stay exactly where they start out - no matter what you wear over them (shorts, skirt, pants - loose and fitted and even leggings)... Definitely worth the money - and they look cute too, even if you don't have the photo model's body, which I do not. :) UPDATE - WOW was I disappointed with how these wore over time... I LOVED them when I got them, after the first wash they held their shape and elasticity, and I was really excited with the find... Then I washed them again. UGH. They ride up now and the legs don't stay in place anymore... They are exceedingly uncomfortable under shorts. And even under a skirt, I find myself surreptitiously pulling at the legs to keep them flat and in place - although I do still wear them sometimes, because despite the discomfort, they are still the best solution to panty lines under lightweight summer cotton knit skirts... It's possible hand-washing and air drying would help - but they advertise themselves as machine washable, so that shouldn't be necessary. They were a 3-star review when I first got them; I have been forced to downgrade them to a 2 as a result of how they've lasted for me...

Wow. These are the bomb!
My sister told me she loves boy shorts, and gets a cheap well-advertised brand at the local Walmart. I got them--hated them. They were not even shaped like boy shorts--they were shaped like granny pants that were lower in the seat area. I then ordered Maidenform, and found out that I have been severely deprived! I LOVE them. Really. I have put a lot of thought into underwear. These conformed to my body and even made me feel pretty! They didn't show my mid-life bulk almost at all. I have been fighting the middle age size--and currently wear a size 14 in jeans, and a size 8 in Jockey hipsters,, but am working to get that back down. However, I ordered the size 7 in these, based on comments, and they are perfect. I think as I get my middle back, they will still fit. If not, I will buy the next size down. After trying these, I popped for Duluth Trading--one "Free Range Organic Cotton" and one "Buck Naked". The cotton are an awful fit--they will be going back because Duluth Trading has an awesome return policy. I will keep the Buck Naked pair, but only to pad the back of my underwear drawer in case I am behind in laundry. They were twice the price and not even half as good as the Maidenform. I also bought Cotton boy shorts from Sevim--not quite as nice as these Maidenform, but I love them because they are close to as nice, and they are cotton. I really think women should primarily wear cotton--but that is just my thinking. If Maidenform could make these to fit well in cottong--Duluth Trading couldn't do it--then I would ONLY buy Maidenform. But I will buy another pair today when I order more Sevim cotton underwear. Thanks, Maidenform--these are great!!

don't want them to ride up or get bunchy? size up. it works.
TL;DR - Order one size up from what the size chart says for an awesome, comfortable, and roll-free pair of underwear. Sort of a mixed review here. I ordered one pair to see how I'd like these, and I ordered one size up (size 8) because I can't stand tight underwear. I really liked these underwear! They're completely smooth under clothing, I don't feel indecent when I'm wearing them around the house, and they don't get bunched up or feel weird under my clothing. All good! However, I noticed by the end of the day that they felt like they stretched out a little. Sometimes I'd notice the legs riding up the slightest bit, although they never rolled, and never bunched up significantly. It wasn't uncomfortable in any way. It was just enough of a relaxed kind of feeling to them that made me wonder if I should have just ordered my size (7, according to the size chart). I decided to order several more pairs, and this time I ordered all 7s. When they came, I tried a pair on, noticed they were a significantly smaller and thought it'd help keep the legs from riding up. I cut all the tags off, washed them, and then wore a pair of the new, smaller ones. I'm not happy with how they fit. Basically, if I sit down or move too much, the legs roll up pretty significantly. The legs ride up (far more than the size 8s) with normal walking. I thought the tighter leg would have had the opposite effect. They also seem to cover much less, which to me, is also uncomfortable. I don't like feeling a panty line in the middle of my butt cheek. The leg opening on the size 8 came down to a much more natural position on my body. I'm wishing I had just stuck to sizing up in this case. I will probably buy more of the size 8s when I can.

Comfortable and helps firm and shape under clothing
I love these as they fit very well, are very comfortable, do not seem to roll up on the leg badly. (They do roll a bit, if I pull up snug pants, but I can reach in and unroll them and they stay down, just roll up when pulling pants up past them.) They create smooth lines, or rather, no lines, under snug pants and skirts, and help my somewhat older tush look a bit firmer and younger in clothing. I had bariatric surgery some years ago and this left me with a bit of sagging extra skin, shall we say? And these panties keep all that nice and tidy looking under clothing. TMI, but for those of you with the same "problem", these are a bit of a solution, perhaps. They are more comfortable than Spanx type compression clothing. They do not compress as much, however, so if you are looking for something that will really shape you, these are not them. They help, with a tiny bit of shaping and firming, but they are not designed to do that in a big way. This is why they are so comfortable. I have owned some that have gone through many washings and they have stayed in good condition.
