MikroTik (CRS304-4XG-IN) 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch with 4X Ports

This little switch (what i use it for) rocks for the price. Functions perfect, no need to setup out of the box if using it for port density. Its always quiet, no coil whine or bad electronic whine. Size is good when you consider its a passive cooled 10Gbit switch/+. This thing is solid, and you can tell it uses that weight as part of the cooling. Along with standard features Its fully compatible 802.1q and span-tree protocols. (though i am using it at home not in a data-center). I have had way worse hardware cost a lot more than this. I am glad i found this item hidden on Amazon, you wont be disappointed. Oh i thought i would add one last thing, these seem to be built for offsite colo or demark rooms. They do not feel temperamental in heat, or at least i haven't see that behavior. 10/10 would recommend.

Not easy or intuitive to set up, but worth learning how to configure it. Handles trunking and VLANS without issue, and you can even repurpose the 1 gigabit management port to a different VLAN for a printer or something else. I haven’t tested the PoE but so far it has been reliable without issues. Good value for a managed 10 gigabit switch.

Also, redundant power for days, it's a beast and a steal for the price range. Not simple to setup but it's fast and robust.

The switch is working perfectly now that I have it configured, although there was a learning curve. The RouterOS GUI used by MikroTik isn’t as intuitive as those from other brands, but it gets the job done once you figure it out. Especially at this price point, you probably won’t find a better bargain on a 10Gb switch with management capabilities (even if you need to work a little to learn how they do things). I appreciate that they’ve made it fanless and have several different ways to power it. Currently, I’m running it off the included power brick and I also have it connected to a PoE switch for backup power if needed. I’ve tested it running solely on PoE for power, too, and it seems to work fine. I have three devices attached at 10Gb, and although the switch does feel warm to the touch, it’s certainly not hot. You can leave your hand on it and be fine. Overall, this does exactly what I needed at a great price. I’m happy with it. Five stars for the capabilities at this price point.

This is a powerhouse of a little switch, IF and only if you understand what it is for. This is not a clone plug in and not know anyhing more than this cable goes here kind of device. But normally you would pay a lot more. I have this working as it was intended and it, well just works really well. This is not going to next next next you though a hand hold, but I don't want that. The other thing here, is this product's price can swing WILDLY depending on where and when you buy it. Shop smart and this is a insane deal.

Finally affordable passively cooled 10Gbe switch. Only annoyance is to POE power this switch is from a 1Gbe management port. If this switch was perfect it would have one of the 10Gbe ports be able to POE power it.

A very high-quality switch. I have a high-speed home network with over 30 devices (mesh network, NAS, cameras, etc.), and I was constantly experiencing speed drops. After investigating the problem, I discovered that the 5 Gigabit switch was the culprit. I replaced it with this one, and my network has been working reliably for two months now.

Wow for under $200 you get: 4x 10gb ports 4x different powder inputs for redundancy (auto switches to highest input) Two OSes, these are permanent license keys, you cannot be locked out of features Quiet(no fans) Router capability (check the test on Mikrotiks website, you will NOT get 10gb routing performance the CPUs can't do it, it can for switching. If your internet is around or under 1gb/s it should be fine) Routeros was developed by Mikrotik specifically for routers, it has a steep learning curve but is arguably the most customizable and feature rich router softwares out today. If you don't want to deal with all that you just switch to SWos which is much simpler and user friendly. The next closest brand is $100 more than this for the same number and speed ports and it also doesn't have the OS. Amazing company (been around for 30 years), crazy good price, every feature you could want, easy scaling and I'm pretty sure they support enterprise models which could be great for small businesses.

Excellent switch administrable avec 4 ports 10 Gbe, ainsi que 1 port d'administration pouvant être utilisé en 1 GbE. Aucun souci à l'utilisation, on connecte et ça fonctionne. Les débits sont bien là, dans le plus grand des silences (spécifiquement conçu pour fonctionner sans ventilateur, la structure interne étant un gros radiateur), et sans chauffer (à peine tiède après plusieurs heures d'utilisation). Pour l'avoir testé, le switch est capable de négocier autant le 10 GbE que les normes précédentes si on y connecte des interfaces moins rapides.

Mein erstes Mikrotik-Produkt. War ursprünglich über das coole Design des L009UiGS-RM auf die Marke aufmerksam geworden. Das Gerät brauche ich leider nicht, aber cool ist es dennoch! Aber Bedarf für 10G RJ-45 bestand – um ein paar neuere Mac Workstations endlich schneller an die Synology anzukoppeln. Um da nicht erst wieder so SFP+ Heizelemente nachkaufen zu müssen, habe ich mich für diesen 4x 10G RJ-45 entschieden. Apple verbaut keinen Schrott und Mikrotik weiß auch was sie tun, die bestehende Verkabelung ist CAT6e, finanziell und technisch ist das also ein "No-Brainer". Grad wenn man jenseits der 30 Meter Kabellänge ist werden die SFP+ Module ja schon teuer und heizen noch mehr. Erster Test: - Die WinBox App von Mikrotik sollte man sich laden. Die findet alle Mikrotik Geräte auf MAC Ebene und ist im Vergleich zu den wirklich schrecklichen Apps der Konkurrenz hervorragend. Super "snappy", alle Funktionen und Infos in der Übersicht, alle Funktionen funktionieren. Win/Mac/Linux Apps sind verfügbar. - Den Switch zuerst mit Netzteil und dem 1G Port konfigurieren. Default Passwort steht auf dem Beipackzettel, auf dem Beipack-Etikett im Karton und zusätzlich noch im Router selber auf einem Etikett (sagt zumindest Youtube). Den Rechner zur Konfiguration muss man selber auf die IP Range 192.168.88.x einstellen, der Router hat anfangs 192.168.88.1. Mit WinBox geht es aber auch so. - Möchte man später von den vier 10G Ports aus auf den Router zugreifen, muss man unter IP > DHCP Client entsprechend eine IP vom Router "beantragen". - MacStudio mit frischem 5m CAT7 Kabel an die Wandbuchse > ca. 35m CAT6e > 2m CAT7 > Switch. Sofort 10G Verbindung aufgebaut. BlackMagic Speedtest kommt auch auf gut über 600 MB/sek. (NAS ist nicht auf Durchsatz getrimmt, 1GB/sek. wäre sicher drin). Schade ist: Dass man leider als Uplink zum Hauptswitch dann einen der vier 10G Ports opfern muss ist etwas doof. Ein zusätzlicher 10G SFP+, in den man einen DAC oder ein billiges Fiber Modul reinstecken kann wäre Perfektion gewesen. So gibt man € 40,– für ein RJ-45 Modul aus. Fazit: Mikrotik ist hierzulande ein "Geheimtipp", warum weiß ich gar nicht. Ich bin total begeistert von den Optionen, aber auch dass es wirklich zuverlässig und schnell zu konfigurieren ist. Meine Erfahrungen mit HP ("ist das eine 90er Jahre Webseite, oder ein Router-Interface für €1.500,– ?") und Zyxel ("jede Produktlinie braucht einen eigenen Look, eigene Semantik und nicht rückwärtskompatible Features!") waren da nicht so erfrischend. Für Netzwerk-Laien ist das Gerät aber absoluter Overkill. RouterOS hat ALLE Optionen, dazu dann noch ein paar neue, einige eigene Protokolle, Zusatzpakete, etc. Alleine das gute Dutzend möglicher VPN Protokolle ist beeindrucken. So viele Akronyme, Menüs, Knöpfe und Tabellen – und deren Funktionen sind stellenweise sehr esoterisch. WinBox hat auch keine Hilfefunktion, die Mikrotik Seite hat eine generelle Anleitung für RouterOS – aber auch eher für Profis. Und ja – dieser Switch (!!) kann auch mehr als die meisten Firewalls. Allerdings muss man immer darauf achten, was/wieviel die CPU leisten kann und was der Switch-Chip "in Hardware" erledigt. Die Analyse-Funktionen helfen auf jeden Fall sehr beim finden von Fehlern im Netzwerk. Und dass die Oberfläche bei jedem Mikrotik Produkt die selbe ist – hervorragend. Ich persönlich bin begeistert – einen CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM habe ich im Tausch für zwei alte HP L3 Switches bereits verbaut.

The unit comes with a power adapter that isn't US/CAN, it comes with a "plug adapter", but it has no locks so it's useless without having to buy a replacement "plug adapter" (like a travel one) or replacement AC adapter

Tres puertos de 10gbe por uno y además de extra que funciona como un switch de nivel 2 al que le puedes cambiar muchas muchas cosas (meterle vlans, mejorarle la seguridad con reglas de firewall) y de extra usar la VPN remota que lleva incorporada sin necesidad de pagar nada y tan fácil como instalar Back to Home de mikrotik. Está bien refrigerado con la disipación pasiva y eso hace que no emita ruido alguno y se caliente poco. Y lo dicho al principio para sacar más de un puerto del puerto de10gbe de un operador como DIGI va estupendo por un precio muy ajustado

Ottimo switch ben fatto robusto. Ideale per chi ha la 10gb e deve collegare massimo 3 pc perchè delle 4 porte lan una serve per collegare il router.
