I previously had set up these plant shelves with the Barrina T8 LED Grow Lights which are very bright and only required 1 light per shelf. However they got really hot and raised the temperature of the growing area and my room. I decided to give the T5 version a try and although they require 2 lights per shelf to match the PPFD of the single T8, they give off far less heat - when I touch them with my hand they feel barely warmer than the ambient room temp. They seem to be built very well and emit a very nice light for growing my African Violets. I’d say they’re perfect for lower light plants. I love that the black housings don’t contrast against the black wire shelf unit as well. Overall a great purchase! I’ve tried several and think these are the ones to keep.Side note - Barrina includes plenty of extra power cords and extender cables so I recommend using a different power cord for each shelf. This allows you to manage the shelves more efficiently and I believe the lights stay cooler to the touch when you only have a couple linked together versus all of them on one circuit.

Overall, these lights have worked really well for my plants. They provide an assortment of cables and ways to hang them. Being able to use them individually or all in a line is great! They can also be turned off/on individually or all together. My only criticism is that the magnets you can use to attach them to metal shelves didn't line up where the wires were on mine, but I used the included zip ties. If the magnets were a bit longer, that would make these even better. I still consider these a great purchase.

I am so pleased with these lights! They're cost-effective and they worked perfectly to illuminate the shady places in our grow room. The package came with three mounting options, magnets clips, and plenty of black colored twist ties. There was also several cords with switches. These were extremely easy to install.

As usual, I love them! 10/10 recommend! I have bought MANY times and will continue to!

I purchased these lights to start pepper and tomato seeds inside. I bought a shelf from Walmart and ziptied 3 lights to the top two shelves and 2 to the bottom.The seedlings seem to be doing great so far and I was able to grow a beautiful tray of lettuce.

Great lights. Microgreens grow without too much direct light, love these will always buy this same set.

These lights work great. They seem to put out enough lumens for some microgreens and lettuce leaves. It's nice that they're individually switchable and don't interfere with power down the line since they're wired in series. Perfect low profile size and easy to install.
