The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 0.5% Body Serum, Exfoliating Treatment for Acne-Prone Skin, 8.1 Fl Oz

I live in the desert 🌵 area of Southern California. As such, it starts getting warm in April and by the time June arrives it’s roasting upwards of 120 degrees. So needless to say, even though I’m retired, periodically there are times when you sweat. My issue is BODY ACNE ON MY CHEST AND BACK AREAS; although it’s mostly an issue on my chest area. I started using liquid shower soap containing 1% salicylic acid a month ago (in the beginning it did somewhat irritate my skin, however, your skin will adjust and now 1 month later it’s working very well). I wanted something to supplement the shower soap, but most everything online contains 2% salicylic acid which is too harsh for my skin. I found this product and the 0.5% concentration of salicylic acid really drew me to it. Plus it’s very reasonably priced. I started using it at night before I go to bed. In lieu of using my hands to apply the liquid I use a cotton pad. This works much better for me and I don’t think I’m using anymore product. So far the results have been great in conjunction with the shower soap every morning. I’m really happy with this product and highly recommend it to other’s.

This stuff right here! Wow it has honestly helped me out so much! My razor burns were so bad before starting to use. My skin just loves when I put it on! There in no scent, it doesn’t not burn my skin after putting it on. It feels more like something cool. I absolutely love it!

I use this periodically on my back. I noticed that it keeps my back from feeling oily and puts a halt to breakouts if I’m breaking out bad. It absorbs in quick so I generally apply with a silicone back scrubber for reach.

This body serum is one of those products I refuse to run out of. The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid 0.5% Body Serum works so well — it keeps my skin smooth, clear, and bump-free. I use it consistently on areas prone to rough texture or clogged pores, and it’s been a total game-changer. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. Whether it’s keratosis pilaris, ingrown hairs, or just uneven skin, this serum handles it gently and effectively. I always keep a backup on hand because my skin notices when I skip it. Affordable, effective, and essential, can’t ask for more than that.

Honestly, this stuff just works. I have been having issues with poor reactions to whey protein for over 5 years that would cause acne on my arms. I started using this daily while also removing as much whey protein intake as possible. It has been a remarkable change over the past couple of months. That being said, I was travelling for 2 weeks and had to figure out an option on how to take it with me since I didn't want to haul an 8 oz bottle and have it take up so much space in my bag. My first attempt with using a smaller travel size bottle worked but it did leak slightly no matter what I tried. I finally put the acid in a little spray bottle/mister and my goodness, it's genius! The spray bottle is actually my go to now. I felt as though I was losing some of the acid each application before I was able to apply it. Now I can spray it on and rub it in without issue. TLDR; It works. The ordinary should sell this in a smaller size for travel and also add the option to purchase it from a spray mister instead for easy application.

I will buy this again and again. Great product and price point. Good size product don’t need to purchase to frequently

This is now a staple in my skincare kit. Skin started purging little sharp shards of keratin plugs immediately. Expect a purge. Maintain it with Cerave SA lotion or similar. Night and day difference. A note of caution: If you arethe type who thinks "if a little is good, a lot must be better," this will prove you wrong. DO NOT overuse it on your face. I got a few small=mild but painful chemical burns on my face and upper back from "going too hard" *because I was so excited by the immediate purge and rapid results.* PATIENCE, GRASSHOPPER! Take days off. Make sure you're moisturizing WELL after use. I like to pour a little bit into my Cerave SA lotion to make it more effective, but this is after having gotten through the initial purge and the inflammation calmed down. I'm so glad I pushed past that! Will never be without this stuff again.

Im not finding this solution effective. Its mostly water with half a percent of salicylic acid.

Been using for a few weeks on upper arms and already seeing progress - reduced redness on upper arm bumps and not as pronounced

Pues por el momento ni tam bien ni tan mal. Lo compre por que me salen granitos en la espalda por el bra & el sudor del Gym, aunque limpio mi espalda nada. Lo uso después del baño pero no he visto mucha mejora. Seguiré, quizá necesite más tiempo.
