SereneLife keeps us kool!!
Purchased this unit to help keep our pet cool during those HOT days. So far, it is working well - keep in mind that it has only been in service for 1 week and has only been used 3 times so far. Setup is a breeze. The window installation plate that comes with the unit - be prepared to cut it to size. I used my miter saw to accomplish the task. The room's square footage is 127.46. Doesn't take long to cool it down. Suppose the battle is that the room in the morning gets all of the sun that would typically keep the room warm/hot!! Initially, we purchased a cheaper unit - one that needed to use multiple frozen containers to assist with the heat, but that was promptly returned as only the dog would feel the cool air. Oh, don't have to worry about adding water to the tank!! Spent an extra 148 for this, and it is well worth it!!

So far no complaints.
So far so good. No issues. Aesthetically very nice looking. No louder than a motel AC unit. Got this unit last year during a big heat wave or heat pump system is on the fritz. I'm caregiving for my mother and unfortunately I have to zone control her room she doesn't like it as cool as I do. So I needed something. This outfit seem to get a lot of big reviews and I like the idea that it was a three-in-one The dehumidifier was a nice plus though I've not used it I might try it this summer. Most times I just use the fan feature as it's relatively not been screechingly hot to use the AC side but when it does it keeps the library room that I'm in quite comfortable which I sleep in when it gets really too humid and hot. It is a bit loud for some people though I don't mind it I enjoy the white noise aspect but it's true it's no louder than the average motel unit. Though in future models it would be nice to see if they can develop a super low fan speed. Not much difference between high and low on this model. Soundwise. Granted portables aren't technically as efficient as window AC units just by the nature. There's a long long YouTube explanation of the efficiency between the two styles. But we do not have typical open sash windows We have three casement windows crank out style that were installed some years ago within the house so I had to prefab some paneling I used the dimension and thickness of the current window screen panel with a template Staind weatherproofed the panel. Then use the exhaust attachment that came with the unit as a template to cut out the hole Then able to find tiny screws where I was able to screw it in I'm still able to open and close the casement window. Don't forget to attach or staple or some type of bug screen on the outside so no critters bugs etc can go in up into the tube and maybe will not running end up in your house also it keeps wasp and trying to be creative. By the time and money I may have had that made out of plexiglass but that would have been an extra cost as it would have been professionally done cutting semi circular holes in plexiglass is not a simple task. But if looking out is important to you then that would be the way to go. I bought mine as a reconditioned model on Amazon so far I've always had pretty good luck with reconditioned buys It's usually means they fixed the issue. I have the unit 2 ft off the floor on a stand which helps cut down the unit from sucking in floor or carpet dust and keeps certain of the male kitties from feeling they need to back up against it to do something they shouldn't do LoL.

Cools really well. Very noisy.
Works great. Easy to set up. Very noisy. Great supplemental AC in South Florida heat.

Number 3
A good all-around unit, light, simple to install and maintain, and it does a stellar job in my 15x15-ft bedroom, I would definitely recommend it. The instruction booklet was not very well written or formatted, they do need to work on this. I was surprised when I received the unit to find it was PYLE USA, a electronics manufacturer that specializes in audio, I've purchased some of their equipment in the past, and it's still running just fine. The remote control is just the way I like it, it runs the basic functions without having to have a PhD in electronics engineering, just the basic buttons but all the ones you need. Recommended..... Update: 7/31/2021 I purchased a second unit, now they are the only AC units running in the house. The temperature is 102° outside, and one unit is in the living room, and one is in the back side of the house, which is about 1100 ft². The temperature is a nice 70° in the house, which I did not expect, between the two units there is 16,000 BTU, (actually 15,000 BTU) which from a standpoint of thermal units shouldn't be enough to cool the house, but I'll be darned if it doesn't. Good units, get them while you can. This is an update covering the last two years of use with two of these, today I'm coming back for a third one. I'm not going to butter your bread, you'll get an honest evaluation for me. The two units that I have in a straight performance viewpoint have been nothing short of astounding, these units just run and run and run, both units have been on 24/7 for the last 2 years, obviously you don't need an AC unit in the winter, what we use them as air filters as well, put on fan only the unit does a good job of clearing the air in the room. I bought one for my personal bedroom, I like my own climate control, and I love to sleep in a chilled room with the blankets piled up. The only thing I could legitimately gripe about is the units are a bit noisy, but to me it's almost like a comforting white noise sound, it's not screeching, or making loud mechanical noises, it produces a low frequency hum which is noticeable, but not displeasing. 2 years of 100% reliable use, and a cooling capacity that definitely exceeds its rating You're not going to find anything that works as hard and performs as well for under $300 My recommendation for this unit is simply this, after 2 years of owning two of these, I'm adding a third..... An update ! 5 years of running it 24/7 and it's still continues to cool just as well as the day I bought it. Fantastic product, The only maintenance it requires is cleaning the filter and emptying the dehumidifier tank. The reason mine runs 24/7 is I use it as a air filtration system, the fan runs 24/7 and keeps the air fairly clear from my soldering, wood burning, and many others in my crafting.

2nd Season, no issues + WHAT I WISHED I'D BEEN TOLD
Bought over a year ago for bedroom & on 2nd summer in Southeast NC without trouble/leaks. Cools well, but wish I'd bought larger size because this year's higher heat makes it run far longer (frankly, with what I've learned, I buy a more expensive dual hose inverter portable). I like a breeze, so I use a standup fan by AC to distribute cool air further. ABSOLUTELY CLEAN FILTER weekly, INSULATE* TUBE & properly SEAL window! I like that it easily rolls. Not quiet, but not awful. CHECK DECIBEL LEVELS to compare units - bought 41 Db Dehumidifier** for use elsewhere & it's significantly quieter. Understand portable units DON'T LOWER HUMIDITY like typical AC's - they work differently. Dehumidification mode didn't dent our humidity much. Know unit's gravity drained & Plug's just above wheels. I raised my AC. If you want your unit to last, do the following: Drain periodically & before storing. If output levers collect condensation, dry them often to keep water out of unit. I angle levers slightly down to prevent that & haven't noticed a difference in comfort. Clean levers & use bottle brush to clean front grill behind levers if see dust, mildew or dark spots, which can also be dust collecting in moisture. *Don't buy 6" insulation rolls marketed for portable AC's; Search for ROLLED 6" INSULATION & you'll find a smaller insulation-only seller who has 2x thicker 6" for similar price. **For those of us in very humid areas, stand-alone Dehumidifiers heat room ~5°, so be aware if thinking to combine the two.

Quiet For Nighttime Use - Window Vent Is Terrible - 3.5 Stars
We have two portable air conditioners because our house was built in 1949 and even though we have central air that does a fairly decent job of cooling our house, there are areas that get way too hot. The upstairs where my husband's home office is located reaches over 95 degrees on warmer summer days, so we got him a Black and Decker portable air conditioner last year. It is a beast. It is loud, but it also cools fast and efficiently. My husband can set the Black and Decker at 68 degrees and his office is freezing. We needed another portable air conditioner for our bedroom, which is on the main floor of our house because the sensor for the central A/C is on one side of the house and our bedroom is on the opposite side. At night we bake and even in Michigan there are nights when the temperature does not go below 80 degrees, so leaving windows open does not help at all. We wanted an air conditioner that was quieter for sleeping and lighter, so we could possibly move it to my husband's den next door to our bedroom. Also, at the end of the season, carrying the A/Cs downstairs in the basement for storage is much easier if they do not weigh a ton. The SereneLife A/C gets mixed reviews in our house because we are comparing it to the Black and Decker. Here is what we have observed: Remote: SereneLife remote does not have a digital screen, which I never thought would annoy me, but if you are tired and half asleep and just want to quickly adjust the temperature up or down and do not want to physically need to look at the unit, having a remote that tells you what the current temperature is, is SO helpful. The Black and Decker wins here. Also, the SereneLife Remote sometimes just stops responding after a few hours of not pushing buttons, which I noticed can be fixed by pushing the power button (this does not turn the unit off). Window vent: SereneLife needs to throw their entire window vent away and start over. In fact, I would encourage them to call Black and Decker and talk to them about purchasing their window vent design. Black and Decker's window vent is far superior. SereneLife's window vent not only does not fit in my standard size replacement window - one side of the slider is wider than the other, which has required us to fill in the gap with foam strips - but the slider lock does not actually lock in place. Also the vent tube falls out almost constantly and immediately. Temperature control - SereneLife does a good job of keeping our very small bedroom cold at night. We set the temperature at 72 and our bedroom was adequately comfortable for the entire night with the until turning on and off as needed. At one point I think the SereneLife turned to fan from cool by itself for some reason, but I cannot be absolutely sure this happened. The Black and Decker is just as good at keeping the room cold. Noise - SereneLife smashed this. The Black and Decker turns on and off with a quiet nothing, but then when it turns back on there is a loud condenser noise that reaches about 95 dba. It is loud. It woke me up all night long. SereneLife, however, just turned on and did its job with the peak noise at about 70 dba. This is still not quiet by any stretch, but is WAY more tolerable. Cost - Black and Decker costs $299 for 8000 BTU and SereneLife is $249 (both sale prices). Recommendations: Honestly, if you don't care about noise, buy the Black and Decker just for the window vent. If you want this A/C for your bedroom at night, go for the SereneLife and understand that you will need to make some adjustments to the vent in your window to block incoming hot air.

Works great but one flaw
This cools the room and works great, however if you are like me and need noise to sleep this does shut off once the room temperature has been reached which in theory is great but I need continuous noise and thee is no option to change that.

Nice and Cold
Great little unit for my living room 14'x16'. I aim the unit at my recliner and even at outside + 35c I keep my blanket close by. It does manage to keep the room at a reasonable temp but if you are overheated just move the unit until pointed at you, adjust the louvers and you are cool in no time. The unit is supplied with a 1/2" fitting for the drain so if you want continuous draining you must buy an adapter for a 3/4" garden hose fixture. It should come with the unit for a matter of a buck or two. There is a slight rattle/hum from the unit but nothing you can't live with considering the cold breeze benefits. I have used 2 top louvered A/C units prior to purchasing this one which is front mounted. Buy front output!

Works great, bit loud
Works great, easy to unpack and setup. Only complaint is how loud it is - AC units arent exactly “quiet”, but this thing is a bit obnoxious. Otherwise great, price is right.

Refresca muy bien pero es ruidoso
Funciona muy bien y es facíl de usar. El unico problema es que hace mucho ruido, si tienes una habitación pequeña es mejor contemplar otra opción, fuera de eso muy recomendable.
