Handy accessory
I primarily only play guitar in my studio for media-geared music, so my parts need to be very accurate, with as little extra noise as possible. I found with my sloppy playing, strings are ringing out by association (nearness/resonance of the body, etc.), and sometimes I can't stop them easily without screwing up my parts more. You may be surprised how many seasoned guitarists this happens to, on smaller scales no less. I had an extremely technically-minded guitarist record for me and it was a very delicate part, but occasionally a string would ring out very subtly. You wouldn't notice this live, or even just in general recording situations, but when you're editing audio and listening intently, you'll hear it.These 100% fixed that issue for me. Now, some pros and cons:Pros:Stops string ringStraight forward designQuality seems goodLooks better than your wife/g-f's hair scrunchyCons:When you slide it back over the nut to hit an open string, it always seems to catch on the nut. I suspect this will eventually unravel the stitching.CAREFUL - If you crank this puppy down, it will make your string slightly sharp. I put it on my first fret and tightened it well, recorded my parts well and then started adding VI piano. The intonation was slightly off. I checked my guitar and intonation - perfect. I cranked the Fretwrap back on the first fret and checked my notes. They were now slightly sharp. So, beware!

More consistent than foam and way cheaper than a BassMute
As a guitar player who is branching out into bass, string muting is one of the worst things I deal with. Strings on a bass are as big around as a baby's leg, and if you blink at one, it starts resonating. In practice, touching a string doesn't mute it very effectively. You have to grab it and wrap both hands around it, stand on it, and squeeze like you're trying to choke it to death. Even then, the sympathetic vibrations are so strong that it will writhe and buck in your hand, and try to resonate anyway. Wow.Of course I am being silly, and it isn't really THAT hard to mute a string on a bass. However, I came across one passage I could not mute satisfactorily for love nor money. I tried shoving foam under the strings, and it worked, but it was hard to get a consistent sound. I decided to give these FretWraps a try.You lose the open strings and the first fret, and it is kind of tricky to find the sweet spot where you have just enough tension but not too much. This is at its worst when you remove the thing for some reason, and go to put it back. In spite of those quibbles, these things are just what the doctor ordered. I end up with an almost acoustic upright bass sound, unwanted sympathetic vibrations are kept to a bare minimum, and if I could still grow hair, these things would probably double really well as ponytail wraps.

Great product, made well, kills noise
I've been looking for an inexpensive set of these for quite a while. I ordered SMALL ones for several electric guitars, Strat, Les Paul, and ES-335 necks. They are a bit snug but work well on all the guitars. Maybe it's ME but I have a hard time NOT making extra noise with my picking hand while recording and this eliminates most or all of that extraneous string noise.I recommend this product. I've had them for a few months now and they are made well and do what they're supposed to do: eliminate extraneous noise while recording.I use different pickups in each guitar, obviously, but it quiets down the active EMG's which make a lot of noise at times. Same thing with my Strat that has Texas Specials and a pre-amp, they can get buzzy at times. This keeps 'em from adding extra noise to my recordings.

The best fret wraps on the market
I am a session player and I use these for every solo I do that doesn't have any open strings. The result is a clean and pure track that has no additional noise from open strings. I also like to keep one above the nut when doing rhythm tracks to keep vibration and harmonics down.I cannot recommend these more strongly.

great product, great improvement over the previous version.
the "v2.0" fretwraps are everything i wanted in the first version- which still work and are still in use on my guitars and basses, but the plastic ring that one loops the strap through turns under the tension of the strap and adds about a cm of length. an easy workaround on the older version.these do not have that issue. i've yet to experience any of the 'dings' some have mentioned from the improved fastening ring. work great, decent quality materials. no complaints from me or any of my 6-string guitars or 4-string basses.

You don’t hear it until you take them back off again.
These are great. Size I bought was maybe too small for a guitar, but still fits. Medium fits my bass, but I’d maybe go medium all around next time. If you don’t know why these are great, here’s the test. Strum a chord and mute it. Then put this on, strum a chord and mute it. Then take it off again and strum that chord and mute it. It’s the kind of thing you won’t notice until it’s gone.

Bit expensive - but does a good job!
Bit expensive for what they are - but this pack was quite a good price and I mainly use them just to stop the annoying 'ringing' of the strings at the headstock - so keep them just behind the nut, does a good job. I have tried them out on the neck as a string damper and they work fine. I use these on both a four and five string bass. They work fine on both even thought they are the small size. The five string is a TRB and they are fine up to about the fourth or fifth fret.

Great!
These work well and appear to be well made, including material that protects the instrument.
