Yes, here in Ecuador we call acetaminophen, paracetamol. They are identical products, chemically, and this brand was by far the best price of any I could find. When possible I use them as a 50% substitute for a similar dose of ibuprofen; that is, I combine half a normal dose of ibuprofen with half a dose of paracetamol and I get the same pain reduction benefit I would get for the normal dose of ibuprofen. So what's the benefit? Ibuprofen is eliminated from the system through renal filtration and has some negative issues over time and with higher doses. How do I know this? My doctorate is in renal physiology and that is basic to my field. You can read all about it in any scientific journal if you choose to. The combination I refer to is especially useful for low back, knee and dental pain. Check that out for yourself.
