Jim Thompson:The House On The Klong

This is the kind of books that makes you travel when you go through it. The Thompson House book has a nice format, beautiful pictures and a lot of interesting information about the house and its owner. I visited it years ago and was very happy to be reminded of the nice and calm atmosphere of this museum house. If you like Thai architecture, this house is one of the best example of local architecture. I recommend strongly this book.

This is the updated version of the book "The House on the Klong" that was originally published in 1968. It has a bigger format and new pictures of this lovely museum house in Bangkok.

Cameras were not allowed in the Jim Thompson house so this book provided memories and descriptions of the art collection.

A great coffee table book, especially if you have visited the house itself In Bangkok (I have, twice). Better yet, buy Jim Thompson's biography. Few people know what a talented man he was and how he helped the Thai silk industry become world-renown. It is so very sad that he disappear without a trace in the 1960s in Malaysia.

Great sumptious imagery which encaputure (well) the enviornment and romance of the house. Jim Thompsons story is facinating but i find the house truly inspiring.

Having been to Bangkok and to the Jim Thompson House allows me to more appreciate the man and his dream. The house is beautiful as is the book. A must buy from Amazon!
