We've purchased 30, yes 3 0 Govee products over the last 3-4 years. Our dedication to Govee began with the purchase of a single Govee hygrometer/thermometer for our 1st snake enclosure. Then our obsession only escalated from there 😄. More snakes = more Govee hygrometers. Then we invested in Govee bulbs for lamps and fixtures around the house. A Govee strand of lights for our porch. A Govee wifi hygrometer/thermometer for a wall in the Snake Room. ...Our Govee list goes on. I'd say Govee's products are overall well made, reliable and meet or exceed our expectations. They've never been difficult to connect to our Samsung Android phones. And they are easy to use. All of which are good enough reasons to stick with the Govee brand. Am I right?! With that being said: The concerning issues we've encountered started after the purchase of two separate "corner tower" floor lamps in late 2022. Side note: Those particular Govee lamps appear to have been discontinued &/or upgraded since late 2023. It would appear that the heavy bases that used to be nondescript are now illuminated. As far as I can tell, that model now has the same base, but it's lit at the bottom. I can't speak to any upgraded functionality or remedied electrical flaw with the newer model of that style. But I do offer this set of floor lamps as a recommendation for your wallet, with a few words of caution ⚠️. I mention this because both of those/our early Govee corner floor lamps with the nondescript heavy fat bases, pictured - had to be purchased individually and were expensive. The issue? *Both lamps* 🛑had varrying electrical issues before they ultimately died😫. Here's what happened: One lamp quit 18mos after purchase. We didn't even use the lamps often. (I don't remember if I contacted Govee about it or not. I'd remember a reply if I had.) Anyhow, the lamps sat on a hardwood floor and didn't suffer -any- abuse. Both lamps were linked in unison and only spent a few hours a week, on. Things started to go wrong after the Bluetooth stopped working in one lamp. It no longer "existed" in the app. and wasn't recognized any longer. The remote worked for about a week to turn the lamp on. Then the lamp "popped." The remote stopped working at that point. We changed the batteries in the remote. Still nothing. The lamp was dead. More than likely at the time of the "pop." But we checked with the remote anyway. The lamp was subsequently unplugged and set aside - defunct. Then the 2nd lamp 2 weeks ago -early 12/2025, died. (Roughly 18 mos after the other lamp died). No 'warning' like the 1st. It just simply stopped responding to the remote, even with new batteries. We'd use this lamp via it's own remote upon entering a darkened room then alter the lighting effects via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth was working fine, so we blew off the remote failure. About 10 days later this lamp also "popped." The freakish thing ~ the lamp was -off.- We were sitting watching TV during daylight hours when this happened. It stood alone. We recognized the sound. We tested various causes, but we couldn't get the lamp to turn on despite our efforts. The surge protector was tripped, but was fine when switched back on. Even with the working remote, nothing. We checked the Bluetooth. Now this lamp was also missing it's Bluetooth connection from the app.. It was clearly kaput. Again, we unplugged the lamp and set it aside. I'm not sure what happened. Manufacturers defect? A popped fuse in the base? Nothing else was affected on those walls. Both lamps emitted an audible "pop" a split second before the end. We tested the surge protectors. As far as we can tell, we didn't do anything wrong. We loved those lamps. But what if I didn't utilize a surge protector⚡️?!? I'd hate to venture a guess. On a side note, I still have the lamps in case Govee has a remedy available or wants me to ship them back for inspection. Either way, I digress. Color me optimistic or idiotic that I replaced our old "Govee corner lamps" this Dec. 2025 with this "downgraded" new set of Govee floor lamps at -half- the price of the 1st set. I have no idea -why- Govee calls this set, "Floor Lamp *Basic*." This set does everything the original "lux" set did. The only difference I can tell is that this new set of lamps each has a power button on the cords. Where as the 1st set had a "why bother" limiting remote that we didn't really use anyhow. Each remote was magnetized to the shaft of each lamp. (One remote did *not* control both lamps. Kinda dumb.) Perhaps the unlit flat base makes this set, "basic?" I dunno Govee's reasoning behind the name. But this set is excellent as far as light output and app selection goes. There's nothing "basic" about them. I have to say, I like this set better! It does *exactly* the same things the 1st set did and more. So this new set has more in-app opinions. This new set is also avaliable in your [limited] choice of color. We chose black. They look much sleeker. Cleaner imho. The 1st set only came in white [if I recall correctly.] And this new set has the more attractive flat-bottom bases. I wasn't a fan of the chonky ones. I'm quite pleased with my latest purchase. Hopefully the⚡️ issue has been factory-addressed, and this new set of Govee lamps lasts and isn't a potential hazard. So yeah., I have my fingers crossed this new "Basic" set of Govee floor lamps lasts faaar longer than the avg. of 2 years that our first set of Govee lamps did. If they don't, I'll have something to say to Govee about this possibly sketchy line of products and go spend my moolah elsewhere. 😬

Follow the directions and this product goes together very smooth. Pay special attention to how to insert the diffuser, YES it matters. The craftsmanship of the pieces feel solid and sturdy. The paint job was top notch and had no flaws top to bottom. The cable was more than long enough to reach around or behind other furniture. The light quality and diffusion is excellent. Govee has been around for quite awhile and this product shows their commitment to building a high quality product.

It was very easy to assemble. They supply you with a magnetic screwdriver which is very helpful when dealing with tiny screws. I was able to connect the lights to the app no problem. The product pieces felt high quality, not flimsy.

These are amazing lights. They are easy to set up. Outperformed what I expected. The manufacturer even gives you magnified screw driver to help hold the screws during assembly. I mean not needed but to do that and make it easier in today's world is awesome. They impressed me so much that I have 10 of them and the outside deck lights and the TV set. I'll controlled from one app. You can control the whole house from your phone. Heck I een got the tea pot/coffee warmer.
