Solid travel keyboard for my Surface Pro tablet
I'm apparently a heavy user, and for my use case and the software I work with, have some very specific keystrokes Right out of the box this paired quickly with my tablet, and was immediately up and running. Probably put 6 hours of use on it before charging it (preemptively, wasn't showing a low battery or anything). It's got a nice feel, the keys have good travel (still being chicklet keys like a laptop), not silent but not terribly loud. in a day and a half of work, I've not experienced any unusual stutters or lag, so that's a win. Also working before sunrise, the backlight feature was a huge plus. I reprogrammed a few keys since I like certain keys in certain places, but that's part of my specific needs I suppose (I want a control key on the right side for example). I don't love the home/end/pgup/pgdown being where they are, but that's a minor nuance based on how I use this. I appreciate the feel and materials, it feels solid with a metal housing which should be durable, of course having to be able to fold up it does have hinges, which feel solid as well, but I don't think it'd work on your lap. Not docking any points since that's not expected. I did see on a 3d print site, an option to make little locks to keep it open, and provide feet for a slight angle, I may figure out a way to source those, but as is, this keyboard is perfect for me wanting to travel with a Surface Pro tablet but also remain productive with a full size keyboard & 10 key

5 Stars – A Travel Go-Bag Essential
I’ve been using this ProArc foldable Bluetooth keyboard extensively while traveling, and honestly, it has become one of my favorite tech accessories. The standout feature for me is the ability to pair and switch between three different Bluetooth profiles. I currently use it with my iPhone, but I can also sync it with my laptop and iPad, or another laptop, without constantly re-pairing devices. That flexibility alone makes it incredibly useful for travel, remote work, and writing on the go. The keyboard charges in a reasonable amount of time, and the battery life has been excellent. Even with the backlighting enabled, I haven’t noticed any major battery drain. The typing experience is surprisingly good. The key spacing feels natural, the keys have a pleasant touch and response, and it doesn’t feel cramped the way some portable keyboards do. After a short adjustment period, I found myself typing comfortably and accurately. The folding design is also well executed. It feels sturdy and well-made, but it is important to remember what this product is designed for. This is a portable piece of electronics, not something meant to be tossed around carelessly. If you treat it with reasonable care, the construction feels more than adequate for travel use. My only real con is minor: I do wish there were some built-in way to give the keyboard a slight typing angle for added comfort. Because it is foldable, I understand that may be difficult to engineer unless it came with some kind of foldable or detachable support plate that still packed into the same portable kit. That said, this is a very small issue and not a dealbreaker at all. For the price, I think this keyboard offers excellent value. It is compact, practical, well-built, and performs exactly as advertised. After using it frequently on trips, I can confidently say it has earned a permanent spot in my travel go-bag. Overall, I highly recommend this keyboard. It has exceeded my expectations and has become an essential part of my travel setup. 10/10

Solid keyboard
Disclaimer: I purchased this both keyboards amd the rollerball mouse based on the reviews of Vine voices whom I mostly trust. ProtoArc has neither offered me any discounts or free merchandise in exchange for a positive review, and I am glad they didn't. Any company who does this is automatically eliminated by me since ethical reviews should always be at the forefront and never bought for a few dollars. First of: if you are not a touch typist, don't knock this keyboard due to your own limitations. Double strokes and missed keys are all due to lousy typing practice and not the fault of ANY keyboard. Having said that, and typing this review on this keyboard, I love how solid it feels and how responsive the keys are. These are full-size keys which is important for any experienced typist with normal sized hands. Some compacts reduce the size of their keyboard by also reducing the size of the keys, and that can be tiring to use for longer periods of time. I have not yet investigated all the function keys on this keyboard but expect them to be similar to those of other full-sized (non-traveling) keyboards. The one-star reviewer mentioned that the keys are illuminated only AROUND the keys. That is not true, the letters and numbers are quite visible. The backlight shuts off during pauses to conserve battery power but comes back on instantly when touching any key. This is just another of the many thoughtful features that were put in designing this keyboard. I don't think that ProtoArc is still a generic brand. That name has become recognizable due to the quality devices the company offers. I just got their rollerball mouse as well since rollerballs have been my favorite for many years. If you have limited table space for your phone, keyboard, and mouse, the rollerball is the answer since it doesn't have to be moved around like regular mice. The other thing I like is that their devices cost a lot less than the big name brands but are often better, most likely because they have more to lose and thus keep quality control at the forefront. As I am using this keyboard, if I miss a key on the lowest row that is due to insufficient pressure on my part and not because the keyboard is misfiring. It is merely a matter of adjusting my typing pressure. Those of us who learned to type on a mechanical typewriter should have no problem with that while the young generation who are used to the sensitivity of electrical keyboards, especially those with those very long fingernails (I call those dinosaur claws), may need more time to adjust. The huge plus on this travel keyboard is its numerical pad. None of my others have that. I happily accept the slightly larger size just for this feature alone. I am not sure how exactly they managed to do that since folded I don't see a difference between this and my other foldable by ProtoArc. I am including pictures of both keyboards folded and opened. The other ProtoArc keyboard is an ergonomic keyboard that allows for more comfortable hand placement which matters for people with Carpal tunnel or shoulder issues. Unfortunately it is not backlit, and being black it does need some light for those who need to see the keys. Is this keyboard noiseless? No, but I like the feedback. I don't think it is so loud that it would be considered a nuisance. I wouldn't use it in bed next to my sleeping husband, but on a plane the background noise from the engines would nearly drown this out. Summary: this is a really well thought-out keyboard with all the features of a full size regular keyboard. That it is more narrow is deceiving: it doesn't have the wrist cushion the better full sized keyboards have, and ProtoArc didn't waste empty space found in full sized keyboards. Since my little table at home has a lip at the bottom to keep things from falling off when I tilt it I just add a wrist cushion for comfort. I really like the solid feel of this keyboard. Highly recommended.

Use with Galaxy S23 Ultra
I only deducted a star because there is some lag in keystrokes when using it with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra). It doesn't do well with double-letters or double-spaces, as it will only type one of the characters, not both. This causes a lot of autocorrect errors when using it with my phone. Beyond that, it is a great item for a good price and I've used it in a lot of locations. It folds up nicely and fits in the little bag that comes with it. The phone stand you get in the set is pretty rickety/cheap, but it's lightweight and gets the job done. The keyboard holds a charge well. I noted that other reviews said the keyboard doesn't snap open or have a bracket to lock it in open position, so if you're using it on your lap, it folds closed to some degree. That's true. It doesn't have much tension to hold it open, but it also doesn't have tension to make it close. So when using it on my lap, it folds closed a little, but I can still use it like that in a pinch. I have used it mostly while taking notes in meetings and on a plane - both tight spaces - and it easily rose to that occasion. It's light weight and, while still big enough to fit your hands on and use like a normal key board, it is great for use in small spaces and is easy to use. The track pad is also much appreciated! It is accurate/precise when using it on my phone and works well to move the cursor without having to use the arrow keys.

A Fantastic, Backlit Keyboard Option That's A Great Value
I've been using the XK01 by ProtoArc, a device I originally found at a local electronics retailer and wound up buying here on Amazon. But only recently, I started to wonder if there was a backlit option for the XK01. Turns out there is, and this is it. It is EXACTLY the same product as the XK01, but the XK01 Plus has backlighting/illuminated keys. This is a light, folding keyboard that can be paired with switched between up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Charging is done through a USB-C socket on top of the device, and the pilot lamp changes from orange to green when fully charged. Much like the original XK01, battery life is really good, although I imagine use of the backlight will cut into longevity. However, there are three lighting levels (in addition to "off") that you can choose from. All are white lights (so if you're hoping for one of those fancier color-selectable lighting schemes like on a gaming keyboard, this isn't for you). This is a great choice for those times when you have a lot to type or say, and you just don't feel like poking an on-screen keyboard endlessly. It can be used with a smartphone, a tablet, or laptop or desktop computer. It supports all the major OS's - Windows, Mac OS, Android, and iOS - any unit with Bluetooth on it. As far as the feel of the keys, I liked it. Key travel is far better than a membrane-style keyboard, and key response feels good (not "premium", but decent), with enough springiness. It doesn't make a lot of noise when you type on it, so if you're in a situation where silence is golden, you'll appreciate it. And, unlike many other battery-operated Bluetooth keyboards available, this has full-sized keys, meaning far fewer typing errors. Yes, you may have to adjust to the placement of a few keys here and there, but I don't think you'll find the layout to be a deal-breaker. The package comes with a carry pouch, and a USB-C cable. There is no charger included for it, but you can get one nearly anywhere these days, including here on Amazon. I can't think of a better, portable Bluetooth keyboard that's available right now. I think this is as good as it gets.

Love this! Makes a working on the go SO easy!
I love this keyboard. I travel a lot for work and it fits nicely in my backpack in the case and even has a cute little phone stand that comes in very handy. Battery life is awesome, the keys are very responsive, the shortcut keys are really great, and it is super easy to connect. It has options to connect it to multiple devices without having to re-pair. On top of that, I had a small issue and had to reach out to their customer service and they were AMAZING! They were super responsive-responding to my email within hours, and offered immediate assistance that was far beyond my expectations. I can’t recommend enough!

This Foldable Keyboard Will Revolutionize How You Work on the Go
The Ultimate Travel Keyboard: Compact, Powerful, and Game-Changing I originally purchased the ProtoArc XK01 Plus keyboard for my sister but was so impressed that I decided to get two for myself. This compact, foldable keyboard is a game-changer—sturdy, well-built, and conveniently portable. It fits snugly into its carrying bag, making it easy to take anywhere. One of its standout features is the ability to pair with up to three devices, with dedicated buttons allowing seamless switching between your iPad, phone, and PC. No need to disconnect and reconnect—just press a button, and you're set. It also comes with a cleverly designed foldable stand that tucks neatly into the carrying bag, holding your phone or tablet at adjustable angles while you type. If you’re tired of struggling with tiny on-screen keyboards, this is a fantastic solution. This keyboard makes an excellent gift for frequent travelers and anyone who works on the go. It’s truly worth every penny, and while the price may drop over time, it already delivers great value. The only drawback is that I wish there were a way to lock it in place when unfolded. However, that minor gripe aside, it's nearly perfect. It includes a USB-C charging cable, and while I’m still testing battery life, its quick 60-second power-save mode is a great energy-saving feature. The adjustable backlight has three brightness levels and can be turned off when not needed to conserve battery. For those who dislike tiny keyboards and need something reliable while traveling, this is a must-have - Seamless Switching, Smart Design: The Perfect Keyboard for On-the-Move Typing

ProtoArc Backlit
I bought this keyboard for travel and for working from different places, and it has been very useful. The folding design makes it easy to carry in a bag without taking much space, but when it opens it still feels comfortable enough to type on. The Bluetooth connection was simple to set up, and I like that it has backlit keys because it helps when I’m working at night or in low light. It feels much better than trying to type long messages or emails directly from a phone or tablet. Overall, I’m happy with this keyboard. It is compact, practical, and a good option if you need something portable for travel or remote work.
