How "strong" are they? I need something that will grab something like a london broil or brisket

A 3Lb. London broil is no problem. STRONG!!!

How wide of opening? Need tongs to grip a whole chicken.

Open close to 1ft. You could grip a whole chicken with these.

The picture says the steel tongs are microwave-safe. Anyone wanna test that out for me?

I can’t think of any reason on earth anyone would want to microwave metal tongs. Why don’t you try putting a stainless steel utensil in your microwave and see what happens

We have a big green egg with temps as high as 600-700 degrees. is this too hot for these tongs ("480 degrees resistant")?

Shouldn’t be unless you leave them on or near for any length of time. Very long so that helps with heat. And maybe with mit. But shouldn’t harm the tongs
