I was looking for a battery operated fountain. I’m using it in my balcony as a small table top. I just had to buy more river stones because the pack it comes with is not enough to cover the bottom. Otherwise, so far it works well.

I bought this little fountain for my cat who hates water, but wants to lay next to the sink when the water is running and sleep. I hoped this fountain would get my cat away from the sink. However, the fountain's water sounds are too quiet and cannot be heard over the sound of the fountain motor. So he just sniffs it and goes back to the sink. You do not get enough rocks to cover the base of the fountain, which is strange. I wanted to love this little fountain, but it was not cat-approved. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the fountain, it just did not meet my (the cat's) needs. Buyer error.

Pretty and compact but the hum of the battery driven motor disturbs me. The price reflects this.

To small I might return it I don’t know yet just trying to put a battery to see how it works I was expecting something bigger and it’s classic and I don’t see any water come to the top

The state of reviews on Amazon is the worst it's ever been and it's not just this product seeing the effects of this. It's impossible to trust reviews and sellers are more likely to pull a bait and switch with the products available on the listing itself. The difference between customer reviews here is pretty vast and I think there are two main reasons for this. Keep in mind there are 8,000 reviews in total listed by Amazon and only 126 of these are for the golden dew product. 1. There are two completely different fountains on this product listing. One is battery powered and the other has a power cable. I can't speak to the quality of the silver version, but the 'golden dew' is garbage. The construction is cheap plastic and the pump is extremely loud to the point that it drowns out any 'relaxing' water sounds. Was it only $25? Sure. I'm glad some people think this is acceptable at this price. 2. Have some people received the golden dew variant, been happy with it and report no issues with a loud pump? Absolutely. Just watch some of the posted videos and you'll see the difference in pump volume between them. This really just illustrates poor quality control more than anything else. I'm sure some of the units sent out work perfectly fine, have little to no pump noise, and provide a nice, zen experience for the owners. The golden dew fountain I received is anything BUT zen or relaxing. The drone of the pump and resonating plastic is the exact opposite of relaxing. I should not be able to hear the pump in a completely different room; it does not matter if I put this 6 or 10 feet away from where I am sitting. The pump completely drowns out any of the water noise (which is already quiet to begin with due to the nature of the design here). I do not recommend this product. Spend your $25 elsewhere, or spend a few more dollars and buy the other variant and hope that maybe it's made from parts that are actually tested and confirmed before being shipped from China. This feels more like something you'd find at a dollar tree or dollar general than a #1 product featured on Amazon with 43,000 reviews.
