The back part of any grill I’ve ever owned is always the hottest. So I put this smoke box right in the back on the main grate. Now the extra heat keeps the smoke rolling out pretty good. Only thing is you really only get about 20-30 minutes so you have to refill. Refilling is not always very easy cause it’s very hot. Plus it takes a while for the chips to start to smoke. So I have bought 2 of these and I just throw the other one on right at 20 minutes and then refill the other one and wait another 20 minutes. Maybe a bit monotonous but so far this system is working really well.

Works great as intended ... definitely helped in smoking my Tri-tip and brisket.....string and sturdy and easy to use ......enjoy

This smoker box holds plenty of woodchips and fits nicely on the burner tops beneath the grills. A real plus! Only thing is that it does not hold water. The box seams are just folded, not welded, so you will need to soak your woodchips elsewhere b4 adding them to this smoker box.

Does not work well on grates, needs to sit on flavorizer bars over burner if you want to slow smoke meats. Had better luck with heavy duty aluminum foil with wood chips on top of the grates.
