The '90s are back with a vengeance on my PS3!
I was one of those oddballs who gleefully walked past the Street Fighter machines, in search of the bright red NeoGeo cabinets, back in my arcade days.On pure hope, I picked this up for my PS3 (I don't have a PS2), and as luck would have it, the game runs exactly as I had hoped. As far as the games go... well... you'd have to have a special place in your heart for World Heroes to really enjoy this disc. The graphics are crude (though arcade faithful, right up to the Neo Geo boot screens!), and although you can access a menu that shows every character's special moves, they're probably going to be a bit confusing to anyone who didn't play this in the arcade. That all said, if you ever enjoyed even one of the World Heroes games, buying this anthology will be money well spent.

World Heroes Anthology - Playstation 2
I used to own World Heroes Jet for the Neo Geo AES and enjoyed playing that game but overall I can't say I am a huge fan of the World Heroes series. But regardless this is a nice complete collection of the World Heroes franchise originally released for the Playstation 2 which includes World Heroes 1,2,Jet,Perfect. The games control well and remind me of the old days on the Neo Geo with the big, colorful and goofy sprites. These compilations were pretty common during the PS2 days but unfortunately we don't see much of it on the newer consoles(now it is mostly single game downloads of the retro games). When I bought this years ago it was only about nine bucks brand new on Amazon, what a great deal for four complete Neo Geo games.

18 Total characters NOT 56
To me double, triple, & quadruple counting the same characters that are on all 4 games etc is borderline false advertising. That said here are the characters that are in it.The following are on World Heroes I:Hanzo (think Ryu)Fuuma (think Ken)Dragon (think Bruce Lee/Fee Long)Janne (Fencer)Erik the VikingMuscle Power (basically Hulk Hogan)Brocken (think mechanical Bison)RasputinIn addition to the above, the following are on World Heroes II:Captain Kidd (Pirate)Ryoko (think Sakura/Yuri Sakazaki)MudmanJ Max (Football player)Shura (Mui Tai/think Joe Higashi)J Carn (Mongolian I think)In addition to the above, the following are in World Heroes Jet:JackRyofuIn addition to the above, the following are in World Heroes Perfect:GokuuNeo DioI liked the 1st two way back when they came out but after putting it in for a brief test I can say it hasn't aged well. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum (40 chars) & KOF 11 (47 chars) are way better for cheap. They are both solid/fun fighting games. Some of the World Heroes are even featured on NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. That's partly why I got nostalgic for this again.

Another Touch of Arcade HIStory!!!
I've played "World Heroes" series at the arcade. And burned many quarters to reach the end of each version with two or three of my most favorite charaters, Now in the present I no lorger have to pay, and now I could see every characters ending. The game appears to be ARCADE PERFECT ports of each game which I REALLY WANT out of these old school compiliations. Controls alittle off because it's setup is based on the PS2 dualshock controller. But with practice It won't be that much of an issue. All SNK can do for all their SNK ports is design a 4 button w joystick pad and sell it retail if we all really want the old arcade flavor, but it's wishful thinking. Bottom line, For old school arcade gaming collectors ONLY!! New school gamers*(post PSOne, Saturn, SNES) wouldn't even know how to appreciate old gems like these.

Another decent, and dated, collection from SNK
SNK's answer to Street Fighter, the World Heroes series has never gotten as much recognition as SNK's other franchises like Fatal Fury and King of Fighters, but that doesn't mean it wasn't any less deserving. World Heroes Anthology includes World Heroes, World Heroes 2, World Heroes 2: Jet, and World Heroes Perfect; all of which have been more than faithfully re-produced for this PS2 compilation. That in itself is where this collection's biggest flaw also lies: some of these games haven't aged too well. The first World Heroes game is as archaic as can be in terms of its controls and playability, with the second game suffering a majority of the same problems. World Heroes 2: Jet improves a bit, and World Heroes Perfect is by far the best game on the collection with its fast moving fighting gameplay and well-animated sprites. Like the previous PS2 SNK compilations, there isn't a whole lot else to be found on the disc in terms of extras (besides a color editor), but for the budget price tag, you pretty much get your money's worth here, especially if you're an old school, 2-D fighting gamer. All in all, World Heroes Anthology is worth picking up if you're a fan of SNK's various franchises, but for others, proceed with some caution.

World Heroes and beyond (The other games included beside the original)
Although I kicked myself when I found this game at a cheaper price in stores, I have practiced on this one so I am somewhat good at it. But, it is not easy to beat, even on the easiest level of difficulty I still had a hard time, particulary with Mudman on WH2. I still enjoy the game, but I can't go 5-star all the way due to some difficult fights on certain games even on the easiest level of difficulty

2D fighting classic.
Nothing negatvie to write about here. If you want four 2D fighting games, this is it. But the game does show its age. I like World Heros 2 the most out of the four. You have to be a big 1990s fighting game fan to enjoy this. If not, I would skip it. I wish they included more bonus material. Not a bad game and it is priced right.

If you like Arcade Fighters
This game is classic gaming fun. It takes me back to a simpler time. It is like Art of fighting, Fatal Fury and King of fighters.
