Superb quality book.
Some of McCullin's finest work, beautifully presented.

Moody, atmospheric. Beautiful
A large format book of Don McCullin's wonderful B+W landscape photo's. Insufficient adjectives to adequately describe this collection of photographic art. If you've been wondering whether or not to treat yourself to a copy - stop wondering & get one; you will not be disappointed. Nuff said.

Great photographs - superbly printed.
The skill in the photography and the quality of the printing of this book are of the highest, and therefore provide a most satisfying experience for the viewer. The often quite dark treatment is powerful.I feel that you can dip into this book anywhere and find inspirational pictures. The physical landscapes are not usually awesome in themselves but McCullin's treatment makes them inspiring subjects for us to enjoy.

Nicely printed book
Some lovely examples of landscape in this beautifully printed tome.Sadly I had to return mine as there was a page tear and perhaps some images printed a little too dark for my taste.

Mixed feelings
The book is physically large and heavy but very well made which makes it excellent value for the asking price at Amazon. For me the content leaves a little to be desired though, which was very disappointing. The early 60's images are excellent and capture the mood of the era perfectly but the more recent images of Somerset which feature heavily in the book do nothing for me, finding them gloomy and very similar which becomes monotonous. There are a few excellent images from around the world including India and Scotland which gives a welcome break from the Somerset images.

Landscape "Best Of"
Not quite a best of but very McCullin, dark broody landscapes that he is famed for. Nice to see some early if naive shots from the 60s to the more up to date images, just a few new images. He has an ability to leave out what is not needed, as the modern artist tends to punch in all those digital aspects and fill us with to much detail, often not required. It is a skill that is disappearing fast. He inspires me, be inspired yourself and dive in if you love the landscape and the true art of photography..........

Heavey dramatic
Too many blank pages, no indexThe photo's reflect his state of mind[PTSD ?] after retirementI just love the heavy black monochrome of winter days.
