Laureline is sexy, independent and smart as a whip. Valerian is handsome, headstrong, and head over heels in love with his companion. The three tales collected here have lots to say about the current state of the world as well as being fantastic science fiction. The translation from the French is first-rate, the artwork legendary. One can easily see how this strip was reflected in the films of George Lucas and Luc Besson among others. You owe it to yourself to read this innovative even revolutionary comic strip

I've enjoyed this series thoroughly. This volume presents more of the same in terms of artwork, but the stories are getting stronger. I would not recommend just getting this volume and reading it out of context, since it ties together elements from several of the earlier books, but it could be enjoyed on its own I suppose. If you're just sampling the series to see if you're interested then it would work.

I got the first 5 volumes from a different publisher. However i was unable to get the last two volumes from it. I searched for them and got them in this edition. The size of the book and the format of the pages is great. The books (vol. 6 and 7) are beautiful and nicely printed. The best edition I know of this great saga!
