AKG K371 Closed Over-Ear Studio Folding Headphones - Black

I use these to edit voice over when and they work great. Their flat response really helps me here the sound I'm putting out.

Simply unmatched for closed back headsets. Also amazingly comfortable for hours on end. Highly recommended

Don't like it. Emphasized "vocal range", depressed everything else. Not detailed. No soundstage. Not really "you get what you paid for". Will give few more days. Not good after Sennh. HD650. Likely will return. On the bright side is noise isolation. Comfortable. Update: After 20+ hours of "burn-in" looks like small ( < 2dB) "adjustments" in "upper-mid" range made it better. (I understand that this is very "psychological", but I kept listening HD650 all this time. So likely there is something - headphones or my ears - that really got better.) Clearly "Harman Target Curve" didn't go anywhere but feels not so intrusive in 3k. Anyway ...adding one more star.

Rock, Klassik. # bei älteren digitalisierten Aufnahmen ist das Klangbild eher stumpf, was allerdings nicht am AKG liegt. Man hört einen deutlichen Unterschied zwischen org. Aufnahmen und remastered. # Lautstärke an allen getesteten Endgeräten sehr gut. Maximale Lautstärke zu extrem für meine Ohren, daher nicht ausprobiert. # Gesprochene Stimmen bei Podcasts sind ebenfalls sehr überzeugend. 3. Weiteres # gute & sehr stabile Verarbeitung. # leicht & komfortabel. # Stundenlanges Hören machbar Dank großer Ohrmuschel (siehe Bilder eines anderen Amazon Kunden). # Extra-Kabel als Alternativen werden mitgeliefert. # Kein Hard Case, nur ein Beutel zur Aufbwahrung für unterwegs. 4. Eu adoro a marca , sempre com som impecável e na minha opiniao com uma neutralidade maravilhosa ( se souber equalizar com seu aparelho) O que me fez ficar extremamente insatisfeito foi a construção, mesmo tomando um cuidado absurdo, usando apenas em casa e sem mover-lo do lugar, umas das conchas está se descolando( depois de 1 ano de uso) Pisaram na bola feio , o som é maravilhoso mas pecaram dessa vez

De bouwkwaliteit is het grote minpunt van deze hoofdtelefoon..... het lijkt allemaal niet erg stevig, de tijd zal het leren. Draagcomfort is ook prima, verwacht alleen geen volledige isolatie van de buitenwereld. Maar de geluidskwaliteit is erg goed. Veel beter dan ik had verwacht en ik vindt 'm zelfs beter dan de Sennheiser HD620S die ik ook net kocht. Die gaat zelfs terug omdat ik 'm erg teven vindt vallen.

I ordered these headphones to try to improve to the lower base response and slight raised high frequencies of my current favorites which that I have used for around 5 years. These are the Sony MDR-7506 and were around £85 when I purchased them, they produce and exceptionally detailed soundscape which sounds open and airy and the vocals are exceptional (you can understand why these are reputed to be the goto general studio headphones for around 20 years). The Bass is detailed and you can discriminate every note. However the very low bass is lacking a little depth, and the very high end is emphasised. For this is the reason I decided to look for new headphones that could improve on these areas and was prepared to increase my budget, if needed, to around £200. I eventually tried out Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Yamaha MT5's, Adam H200, BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro 80 Ohm & DT770 Pro X 48 Ohm, before choosing the AKG K371 - see my reviews of each of these others, for my evaluation of their performance.. As to the AKG K371 - I found their overall design to be good quality. The padding supported the weight well and they were comfortable on your ears. The construction felt more luxurious than other headphones in this price range with a more solid feel and slightly better materials. The earcups were nicely shaped and the adjustment available allowed a comfortable fit to be achieved. These were 32 Ohm and very compatible with my Computer, HiFi, phone and portable player all coping well. Exceptional at this price point was that the headphones had a detatchable cable and 3 different cables were supplied - a short one suitable for when you were walking around with your player in your pocket, a 3m coiled one for when seated but needing to move around occasionally, and a 3m one for when standing. However for me the whole purchase depended on the sonic performance - could they improve on the Sony MDR-7506, lower bass depth and high frequencies, without sacrificing the parts that were excellent. The AKG 371's the overall sound was open and airy similary to the Sony. It was very detailed and versatile, preforming well over the wide range of test tracks that I had chosen and compares well with the Sony's. The AKG has a significantly improved low frequency range compared to the Sony and some reviews point out that they closely match the natural frequency response of the human ear. I consider this to be close to what I was looking for. The higher frequencies had slightly lower emphasis than Sony whilst still retaining the crispness of the sound. There is a good vocal balance, with great detail, however the Sony still seemed to have something a little more special on some vocal performances. However I will still have the Sonys to cover this requirement. So overall the AKG provide good cover of the very low frequencies without muddying the lower/mid frequencies, provide an open, live, very detailed sound for a moderate increase in price above the Sony MDR- 7506 and will compliment them well. For exacting detail, hearing every nuance, and vocal sweetness I will opt for the Sony's but for the more bassy tracks I will use the AKG's without missing too much.
