Brilliant electrolytes perfect supplement for a carnivore way of eating

I have had sachet powder energy booster drinks like this before. I would say these "Ultra Lyte Electrolytes Drink Mix" must be the fifth or sixth brand I have tried. If you are unfamiliar these are like any other really, they arrive in a cardboard box and inside there are 24 sachets in this particular instance. The sachets are paper-like that you rip the top off and pour the powder into your glass. Add water and stir and you are good to go. Everything is very simple and one thing I will about this product is that the powder didn't dissolve particularly well into the water. I used a stirrer though and by the time I had drink the mixture there was minimal residue left at the bottom of the glass. When I first opened the sachet and poured the powder I did notice it was a pale white colour. However when I added water the drink was a yellowy-orange; more in line with what you would expect from Mango flavour. I found the taste to be a nice mango flavour however there was an artificiality to it too that was ultimately off-putting. The drink was pleasant enough in a five or six out of ten kind of way. I do like the large pack size though as it is good to have such items in stock I think - you never know when they will come in handy. I will go with 4 stars here because the drink is reasonably nice but marred somewhat by the artificial taste. I doubt I would buy it again though personally because of the artificiality. Four stars is a fair and accurate review in my opinion.

I got hit with a really bad bout of flu the past two weeks and my energy plummeted from 100 to 0 overnight. I thought I'd try this out to see if it'd make a difference and honestly was very surprised with how much of an energy boost it gave me mid-sickness, even my caffeine flu tablets hadn't managed this. I'd say it lasted me about 4-5 hours before it started wearing off. Very easy to mix, even in cold water surprisingly (just needs more mixing than if it was in hot water). Can't say I was a big fan of the salty taste at first, it's one of those things that grows on you the more you put yourself through it. The description says that 1L of water gives it a 'subtle salty hint' but it most definitely is more than 'subtle'. Still quite salty even with 1L of water. It seems a bit pricey at £8.99 (at the time of writing this review) for just 12 sachets but it's not something I'd be drinking every day. It's great to have on hand for when it's needed, like when I'm ill, travelling for a long period of time, or having a rough post-workout recovery. So I'd say it's decent value for that kind of thing. Would happily recommend.

All flavours have recently changed and no longer taste as nice, disappointing as I loved these before. Seem to have added colourings as they never used to turn water anything but a bit cloudy. Watermelon is now really artificially sweet.

I like that unlike other dissolvable electrolytes I have tried in the past these ones have clear suggestions on the back of how much water to use to suit your taste preferences from strong to weak. I initially tried this drink at full strength as I wanted to get a good gauge of the flavour having tried another variant. This one in my opinion was more palatable than the other even at full strength so I didn’t dilute it further however this is personal preference. As described it does taste like a salty mango flavour so if you’re off put by the idea of a salty drink I would suggest this might not be for you or you would prefer it weaker. That being said the flavour does assure me it has all the essential minerals it claims to have to support health. It dissolves really well in comparison to others I have tried and I like that it comes in a convenient resealable pouch but with individual sachets within that you could take some of on the go. It’s also a really generous bag with lots of portions so should last ages. Overall it’s a great hydration and micronutrient boost.

Very salty and needed to dilute a little more to drink. More salty than mango. But working in a kitchen, it helped with hydration verses heat and sweat. Would like to buy in bulk
