Hold up well, hopefully better for the environment
I purchased these straws because of their relatively high rating here on Amazon. I go through a TON of disposable straws and am really not a fan of reusable straws considering they are pretty difficult to wash and taste horrible when they are contaminated. My eyesight isn't the best, and my reusable straws are all green; this makes it difficult for me to see "obvious" contamination. Regardless, these paper straws have been very high quality. I've seen a number of reviews that comment that paper straws don't last very long and that you need to finish your drink relatively quickly so the straw doesn't deteriorate. The only issue I've had with these straws at all is the pinching of the straw opening in the cup sometimes squeezes the straw and makes it a little difficult to use. I have yet to experience a straw disintegrating in my drink or to "taste" paper because the straw is coming apart. My drinks often last me several (6-8) hours, so I've been very pleased these straws have held up. I have even frozen these straws in drinks (long story) and had no issues upon thawing except for discoloration. These straws seem to work equally well for Frappucino-type drinks as well as "normal" drinks, though I have not tried them in soda/pop. I definitely recommend giving these a try if you are looking for a sturdy paper straw.

Environmentally friendly and well made
This review is for the "Dye-Free Paper Straws, Plasticless 200 Pack Individually Wrapped Biodegradable Straws,Food-Safe 7 3/4 inches." These paper straws are environmentally friendly and seem to be very well made. I really like the feel of them better than plastic straws. I plan to carry some in my purse, for when I am in restaurants where I don't trust that the drinking glasses have been adequately cleaned. A waitress in a restaurant recently told me she wouldn't drink out of a glass in most restaurants, but she personally knew that the glasses in her restaurant were clean and sterilized. That is what got me thinking that I can be environmentally friendly and still protect myself from germs by carrying my own paper straws. Long story short, these are perfect for that purpose.

Great Quality Straws!
Have been using these straws in my pub for months now. Great quality, last a long time without getting soft, even left it my drink overnight and in the morning still stiff, as they are paper I'm pleasantly surprised. We have used about 1,200 thus far. Its better for the environment too!!!!

These are fabulous replacements for plastic straws.
I LOVE these straws! They are similar to the ones we had when I was a little girl, and best of all, they are helping to preserve the environment. They hold up very well in all beverages -- I have absolutely no complaints!

Cardboard
Like drinking through cardboard. After less than 20 minutes there are a bunch of little pieces of paper floating around in the drink. Can’t believe there are so many good reviews for these. Update, this company offered a refund if I removed my bad review. Why even have reviews?

Straws worth the sipping!
So far, these straws are excellent- they’re sturdy holding up to liquids very well...there is no “taste” to them...AND they’reIndividually wrapped.

Excellent Paper Straws
These are excellent paper straws. They hold up very well in liquids. I tested how long it would last, and it was in a soda for over 2 hours before I noticed it was starting to get a bit soggy, but it was still useable, and I think it would be fine for an even longer time. I like that they're individually wrapped, you can carry them in a pocket, purse or in your car without worrying about them getting dirty. They are a little pricier than some others I looked at, but I can't compare whether they're better, as I didn't try any others.

Third or Fourth Oder
My dentist recommended using a straw and I started using these when drinking my daily lemon water. My teeth had become sensitive because of the acid in the lemon and I didn't want to give up starting my day with the lemon water. I felt guilty about the plastic straws and switched. Yes, they do get softer when in liquid for extended period, but don't need it for long. The landfill is just full of plastic and this works for me. I was down to my last 5 and my next box of 200 will arrive tomorrow. PS. My dentist was correct and using the straws worked. They aren't study, or durable, but they work for me. I gave them 5 stars because I like them anyway. I don't expect paper to last long in liquids.
