I will deal with the only negative first, and that is that there is no power switch on the microphone. This means that it is always active so I have to mute it and turn the volume right down. Muting the microphone makes the LED's glow red, which cannot be turned off. Aokeo really need to fit a power switch as unplugging the unit isn't always a practical solution.That said, in every other respect, the microphone is grate. The spider desk stand stops noise transferring through the desktop so people can't hear me typing as I talk, which is great for online meetings.The sound quality is much better than my old microphone which was over £100 and finally gave up the ghost after a decade of heavy use.I really like the ability to change the input volume of the microphone on the microphone rather than searching through settings. The ability to monitor the microphone on the unit is a very useful feature, although not one I use that much.muting the microphone is done by tapping to top and, in normal use, the grille is red for muted and green for unmuted. I really like the simplicity of this. I often forgot to unmute my microphone on video meetings so having a simple tap works well for me and the lights have saved my skin a few times.Aside from the sound quality, it looks and feels excellent. I bought the white as it fits in with my system better. The RGB is fun to play with, probably too much fun at times as it can become a bit distracting. The RGB lights can be turned off on the unit as well, so not an issue.At this price range, you can't really go wrong with the Aokeo AK09. It does the job well, is easy to setup and use, and it has some fun elements.

Quick and easy set up, the sound is good quality and very clear. The LED lights give it a really good look. Works great on my Mac, I have purchased a lightening adapter so I can use this mic with my iPhone, hopefully it works.

Great item, works well with good sound quality. Good build quality,easy to set up and good value.

EDIT 11/07/2023: The product has changed since I wrote my review. The cardioid functionality has been removed and replaced with a simple mic volume knob. The mic now seems to be fixed in omnidirectional pattern, which would be not good for streaming if that's what you wanted to do with it. Note, it looks like they've updated the product pictures, but not the product description which still says it has cardioid adjustment - evidently from the pictures and recent reviews, it doesn't have that any more. Real shame.Leaving at a 5/5 for my original purchase tho'.---This is a hidden gem! It might not have the best audio quality out there for dedicated mics, but it's still very good and the cardioid adjustment works well when needed. With the touch-top mute feature, this is the perfect mic for when you're on Teams and want to be able to mute/unmute quickly without fiddling with the mouse trying to get on the mute button in a hurry when you need to. I absolutely love the LED colour melding/cycling it has built-in, it has a nice background soothing effect, perfect for the stressed out desk worker!Only two minor points:- some people might be put off by the monitor feature which causes the mic to also show up as an output device, so you'll need to use a custom mic/speakers combination in your Teams/Skype etc settings and may need to check it from time to time in case it gets reset (which can happen occasionally)- it's not designed to also be mounted on a boom, which is a shame as while the stand is very good, some people might prefer to have it on a boom (tho' perhaps more resourceful people might be able to manage it)In short, this is an absolutely gem of a product, especially at under £30! (currently £27.50!). Nice one Aokeo!

Please Note Lower Rating isnt because of the item specifically - But hoping it may draw attention for others who may be looking at this for a certain reason.Our son wanted a microphone to record voice whilst on his Xbox when he "screen records". Not being too tech savvy, he found this and asked us which it states "gaming - PS5/PS4". We assumed It would work on Xbox, however, Xbox don't allow voice through USB so it doesn't.That's no fault of the seller, just us assuming.The product however seemed decent for the money. Nice black finish. Good build quality. 3 colour LED lights would indicate modes around the microphone.I presuming for computer use it would be good if people want not too big a mic to add for teams use etc. However for gaming - especially on Xbox, it doesn't work. So sadly had to send back.
