This does a really good job of dicing onions into tiny little pieces. Of course it dices lots of other things, too. I like that it has a catcher to hold the diced pieces. The one I have also came with a cutter that makes double-sized pieces, but I've never actually used it. The main problem is that it is a bit hard to clean. Often the cleaning takes longer than the cutting.For the onions, cut the whole onion into 8ths with cuts on 3 orthogonal axes. Lay one of the 8ths on its back with the point up. Lower the blade down to where it touches the tip of the pyramid, then suddenly press down very hard. Whap! --- Now you have a whole bunch of little diced pieces in the catcher. Repeat for each of the 8ths.

I originally bought this chopper and the top kept popping off and it was infuriating. Not too much longer after writing my first review I received a brand new chopper with a hand written note inside apologizing for my terrible experience. I LOVE the new chopper so much b/c the tops stays on. Super happy with the amazing customer service and the chopper. I think I saved half the time this morning making a soup for my crock pot b/c the chopping was so quick with this thing. Thank you!

Great job in very quickly providing chopped onions. Can also use it for celery and other softer vegetables. Be careful when cleaning since those blades are sharp! I gently used my kitchen brush to dislodge any retained pieces of onion.

Updating my initial early review. The collection box for the cut veggies does not stay on as you cut, spilling diced items everywhere. Very poor engineering to allow this to function this way. I'm pretty disappointed - long ago I thought the Alligator was 'the best'. Will need to find a new dicer, as this is too irritating.

I love the alligator food chopper. It makes chopping vegetables quick, easy and the vegetables are uniform in size. I have chopped onions, peppers, potatoes, celery. And even some fruit. The first time I used it I didn't think it would be sturdy enough to chop but it was.

I was using Bellemain chopper for two years. I liked the quality, but the blade locking system stopped working. This time I wanted to buy a better one which would last longer. Looking at the reviews I bought Alligator.Pros compared to Bellemain.Bigger blade. Easy to chip, easy to cleanConsThe plastic vegetables holder quality is not good.After chopping some veggies fall off from the holes of the blade after lifting.Whike chopping we have to hold the veggie holder in place from falling.I'm planning to return even though I like the new way of chopping and bigger blade. I wish they would change the plastic holder.

Just received and have used one time, but love it. Video on how to use very helpful. Appears to be quality construction, although made in China, so not sure about it's longevity. Very satisfied so far.

Bad design on the cup attachment makes this hard to use. Already replaced it with the fullstar version.
