SnugpakDri-Sak Original Bag

After having bought similar items in the past, I decided to really put this through some good tests to see if the manufacturer's claims held up. At first I was skeptical that simply folding a bag over a few times would really keep water out.My first test was a 'rain' test. I put a couple of pieces of 8.5 x 11 paper in the bag and sealed it up per the instructions. I then put it in the shower for 20+ minutes on full blast with hot water (trying to see if heating it up would compromise the integrity of the material or seams). I kicked it around, swished it in the water flipped it over, etc. After 20 minutes, I opened up the bag and the paper was as dry as when I began my test.The second test, was the immersion test. I left my original paper in the bag, added some stones for weight, sealed it up again and placed it in a large sink full of hot water for an hour. Opened it up and the paper was dry!I repeated the second test for 2 hours, this time with cold water and the result was only slightly different, this time, the paper was slightly damp but there were no marks from water drops. I believe that the cause of the dampness was because of the temperature difference in the water. I went from hot water to cold and I believe that caused humidity to build up inside the bag. This is a perfectly acceptable condition and there is no way to engineer against it.Overall, in my tests at least, the bag exceeded the manufacturer's claims. The said that it's not meant to withstand prolonged immersion but it did a great job from my perspective!

I use this item to line my day pack, but could go into a 3-day set up. I use this in conjuction with the Snugpak Sleeka Force 35L bag. I have used dry bags for many years now, I used to use a black heafty bag and put all my items in gallon ziplok bags. A few years ago I was given a camo duck hunting PVC dry bag, it was very heavy duty, and as a result heavy. The PVC became ridged in extreme cold weather and broke around the seal (nothing duck tape cannot fix). This Snugpak bag is light weight, and seemingly more durable in some ways. I also have this bag in large tan, and use it line my bigger set ups. I have been using these bags for sometime and have gotten rain and snow on them. So far no leaks, I think they will hold up the most intense rain and a accidental dip in a body of water, I do not think one should expect to use them in a body of water for an extended time.

Came totally waterproof. Spilled a bunch of water on it during a recent hiking trip and my clothes inside stayed completely dry. The water beaded and rolled right off. Didn’t need to spray any waterproofing spray on it at all. I’d absolutely buy again.

If you're in the military or at least in the U.S. Army and got the old Vietnam dry bag like I did then just buy one of these. They do a way better job of keeping your studd dry and organized. I just a large and a small one, large for uniform and cold weather gear while the small one for shirt and socks.

I really like this bag. It's great for the field for carrying maps and map markers and other small items that you want to make water resistant. This bag however is NOT water proof if that's what you are looking for. It offers some protection from water but when saturated the contents will get wet. It's super lightweight and is he perfect size for packing small items you want to keep together. Would purchase this and similar products again.

I use these to separate uniforms in my pack and keep them dry when mother nature tries to ruin my day. Easy to grab a bag from my pack and run to the shower with everything I need to get in and out quickly.

Same as the kind sold at the PX, stronger than a freezer bag for when in the field.

Took this bag kayaking in the rain and even though it was in my kayak it got rained on. It worked great and kept everything dry after 10 hours of off and on rain storms. I would buy this bag again and recommend it.
