Gets the job done!
After I bought the Audix Fusion 6 mics I realized I had a problem... I managed to over look the fact that they didn't come with mounting hardware. After searching many sites and browsing different products I found these. The DM50's are rugged and are heavy duty enough that I don't have to worry about a missed stroke disaster. They install easily and work perfectly for amplification. Plus they are designed for perfect mic placement. I'd recommend the DM50 for a drummer at any stage of the game, whether touring, or recording. This is a very good product.

Decent mic clip. Some faults.
I use this mic clip on my snare drum, it does the trick for the most part. The part that attaches to the drum is very sturdy and have never had a problem with it falling off or moving in any way. I do however have issues with the part that attaches to the microphone. I use it with a very small form factor drum mic (audix f10) and i have to constanly tighten it to keep it in position. By constantly i mean every 15-20 min during use. I do not hit ever hit the mic so i am fairly certain it is due to the resonance of the drum. For the price i guess i can't complain too much.

Does the job...
Alright I've been using this in my home studio. I bought 4 of these two months ago. The rubber on the clamp tares easily, but doesn't come apart completely and is still very usable. The other reviews that say this is hard to put on and isn't made to grab on to their drums just don't know how to put them on correctly. You have to grab the bottom rim first and then push it in until the top of the rim is gripped also. Then you can tighten them. Took me little time to figure out how they clip on, and it's easy now.I do some heavy playing and these things have yet to come loose. The only thing that is difficult to adjust is the angle at which they point down! It really shouldn't be that hard, but it gets complicated and takes me a while to unscrew the mic clip, turn the washer and screw the mic clip back on until I can get it to point straight down. I don't regret my purchase, and I can't complain about the price because these things aren't made cheap. Beats having a ton of mic stands around my set!

Do Not Buy
Poorly made. Fell apart literally first time I tried to mount it. It looks like its held together by screws at first, then it collapses and you find it's just a slotted thing pushed into rubber. cheapo. Then the other fun part is that the gap between the 2 mounting pieces is only 3/4". It literally didn't clear the rim of my tom drum. Now, instead of having a cool mic'd kit for my band practice tonight, I'm wasting 45 minutes typing a rant review! boo

Not Impressed
I bought a few of these drum mic clips to help speed up the break-down process after recording live bands. I was using cheap, hard plastic mic clips that secure firmly to the drum rim but are dificult to remove. And there's nothing I hate more than being in the way of the drummer when he's trying to remove his kit. I was hoping the screw-on clamp on these clips would be quicker and easier to attach and remove.I was wrong. It takes forever to unscrew the clamp enough to fit over the rim, then you have to screw them tight... but not too tight. I've used these clips a grand total of three times. I've already had two clips fall off because they weren't tight enough and one broken because I tightened it too far.I've gone back to the cheap plastic clips (which havent fallen off or broken once in over a year of use) and hold these in my kit as emergency replacements.I suppose they would work in a studio setting, where you have lots of time to set up and adjust your drum mics, but for my purposes - fast and cheap recording of live punk bands - these clips were a waste of money.

Great for live shows!
These clips are among the easiest (for the money) I've used. At first, it appear like the range of motion and mic angles would be severely limited. Not the case. By adjusting where you place the mic mount, you can actually get a lot of different angles and distances.. without getting in the drummer's way. Also, the shell clamp didn't transfer any audible resonance from the drum shells into the mics (like some other drum mic clamps on the market). I easily had 3 different bands' drum kits mic'd up within minutes.. Really helps smooth out a live show, if you're a stage tech, sound engineer or musician who's hands on with the PA equipment. Also recommended for venues that have "house drum kits" on hand. You can't go wrong with these!
