Does the shoulder strap remove

No it's attached that is the only issue with the bag but it's still so worth it. I just let the strap hang it's not too bad. I've received lots of compliments on this bag and it's made very well.

Yes it is sturdy but the purse is very stiff. I have to remove half of my stuff just to get to my wallet. Or if a card dropped to the bottom. Very very stiff.
