This is my new favorite mousse, it’s a gel to foam and it smells amazing and it’s not heavy or sticky.My curls love it and I do not need a gel with it, curls last a good 3 days.

I don't normally use hair products, but tried this one on a whim. It does hold the shape a good long time, smells nice, and is lightweight. I recommend it. Nice product.

Great hold, define for my natural curly hair

I've never had a gel to foam curl hold product. Thought it would be interesting to try. First off I really don't like the smell, it's fine when it's just sitting in the bottle but when it's in the hair I find it overwhelming. I apply this to wet hair. I rub foam between my hands and then run it through my hair while scrunching. It held my curls pretty well and didn't make my hair hard or crunchy like some gels but I really can't get over the smell.

I'm still working out how to best use this product. As with all curly hair products, it takes some testing to figure out exactly how much to use and how to use it - too little and you don't get definition, too much and you weigh down your curls.That said, my experience with this gel-to-foam styler has been great. I like the pump mechanism. I'm not sure I entirely understand how gel even turns into foam, but it works perfectly, and the pump makes it easy to dispense exactly as much as you want. Once you have the foam in your hands, you can rub it together and rake through your hair and scrunch to help define your curls. It works great, and doesn't leave any sort of sticky residue, nor does it leave your hair crunchy like most gels would.The smell is also incredible. I don't understand how they've managed to distill the fluffy lemon meringue scent, but they did. It smells like a bakery when you're applying it to your hair, which sounds weird, but I really loved it. It's nice, though, because once it's distributed in your hair, the scent is much more subtle - still pleasant, but not overpowering, for those who might be more hesitant about smelling like cake haha.The first time I used this (as pictured), I don't think I used enough product in my hair, as I didn't get nearly as much hold and curl definition as I would have hoped. It was hard for me to get a sense of how much gel would be enough for my fine wavy/curly hair (somewhere between 2c and 3a depending on its mood) without weighing it down too much, so I'm still trying to dial in on the right balance. That said, I still love how my hair came out, and while it wasn't completely frizz free, I definitely noticed less frizz than I would ordinarily have. It felt soft, smelled great, and looked cute!All in all, this is a really fun curly hair product at a great price point, and I'm happy to have it in my collection! Really interested in exploring other products from this brand, too.

I have recently discovered that my frizzy “straight” hair is actually wavy. I got this product to try out the Curly Girl Method, and I was shocked at how wavy/curly my hair got. I applied this to soaking wet hair and squished. I let it air dry. Once completely dry my hair was soft, it did not have a hard, crunchy cast. Some curls looked great, but I still had a good amount of frizz. I tried adding more of this mousse onto my dry hair but it made it stick together into stringy little waves and that’s when it got crunchy. So I definitely recommend applying when wet. I’m going to pair this with a gel to tame some of the frizz. In my photo this is the only product in my hair (plus shampoo/conditioner).

First of all, this Cake Beauty gel-to-foam styler smells amazing! It is lemon meringue scented, and I would say that that is accurate to what it smells like. Before I actually read the label to know what it was supposed to smell like I thought it reminded me of vanilla cake with fruit on top of it. This was my first time ever using a gel-to-foam product and I was happy with the results. It added slight definition and did not make my hair sticky or too stiff. The results remind me more of moose than of gel, which is good for me because I typically like the results of moose more than a gel for my wavy/curly hair. It is applied like a moose also. I like that it includes coconut oil and Shea butter to help nourish the hair while styling. I am very happy with this product. I would recommend it.
