Superfeet Hockey Performance Insoles - Carbon Fiber Inserts for Hockey Skates - Professional Grade

Perfect fit - true to size - and they do improve performance
I play hockey twice a week and have had good success with these insoles. They are well made, run true to size, and improve the instep portion of your foot, providing greater leverage when taking full strides. When compared to my originals, the fit is substantially better due to the overall design of these insoles. Don't expect to be a better hockey player with these, but do expect more comfort and a feeling of confidence when you skate hard.

They work well!
My skates are Bauer Nexus, 9.5. I got the size 11-12 insoles. You can see that the superfeet are bigger than the stock Bauer insoles, but the arch/shape matches up to the Bauer ones/my foot. I trimmed the superfeet, they fit great. Stock insoles were so thin that the rivets underneath hurt my feet. Superfeet are thick enough to provide more cushion than stock but still thin enough not to make the fit too tight. They’re comfy and keep my feet in place. I have “Bauer bumps” on the backs of my heels and the superfeet don’t boost my heels up out of the spot they formed in my boots- which is great. Immediately more comfortable than stock, not like life changing where all discomfort is gone, but much better- very nice. Glad I got them!

Put these in your skates ASAP
Superfeet Hockey Pro Insole - ESSENTIAL skate component IMO I can't describe the instant comfort, control and power that these provide. They are magical. And work no matter where you place them apparently, as I plucked the pair from my FR1s, where they were sandwiched between the stock footbed and my intuition premium liner. Note that in the FR1s I kept the Intuition premium's shock absorber installed and put that sucker right on top of the Superfeet.... I don't know how that physics, but it does it anyway. So I had to trim a couple of mm to fit the inserts into the CJ2, but it slid in right above the stock red foot bed insert...which also has plenty of shock absorbing material built in to the heel area since it is the base CJ2 model with the integrated liner. Instant results. Before the Superfeet, I had all kinds of issues breaking in the CJs. My 2nd toe is longest by a few mm and the left one was still pretty painfully bent in the boot after a few sessions in the CJs. Overall the boot was too roomy in the toe area (besides that L2) and lacked support above my foot. Even with the wax laces I couldn't get the lacing to compensate. I had none of the desired control to feel safe exploring edges or jumps or especially toe rolls. Max session time around 1.5-2 hours before pain and fatigue took over.

Buy shoe size not skate size.
I ordered these insoles as an attempt to fix the pain I was having in the sides of my feet. There is a good chance that this pain is also due to the fact I have wide feet and skates that are not wide but I wanted to try these anyways based off a YouTube video I saw from the company that said they help side to side flexion of your foot. I felt like that flexion and collapsing of my arch when skating was contributing to the fatigue on the outside of my foot. After trying the insoles I have a couple of observations to suggest to future buyers:1. They did help with the fatigue/cramping in my sides of my foot. I skated 1.5 hours finally pain free and felt like I had a ton more energy. I imagine getting wider skates will also help.2. The arch support feels really off when I simply step on the insoles. The arch support is really far back and feels too close to my heel of my foot. I ordered the size 7-8 because my skates are size 7, but I think I’m going to try 9-10 to see if the arch support fits better in my arch as my shoe size is 10.3. I recommend once you install the arches you consider rebaking your skates. I got bad blisters after playing on these because they positioned my heel in a slightly elevated position. I imagine a rebake with the insoles in skates will help with this issue. Conclusion: I’m impressed with the difference these made in my skates even though I have likely skates that are too small/narrow. They solved my pain on the outside of my foot I would say 80% by giving me some stability in my arch. Also, I don’t ever use arch support in any of my shoes and I have had my feet 3D scanned and I am a border line high arch. I think skating puts a whole new level of strain on feet and arches and even someone with a stronger arch can benefit.4/5 stars - my only gripe was that I wish I knew I should size to my shoes not my skates.

Should've bought soon!
I have had the same pair of skates for 16+ years, because who likes breaking in new skates or paying $$$ for new ones? Got these insoles and they feel like a new pair and my feet felt great. Only mad I waited this long to think about replacing the insoles.

I think all skaters can benefit.
My foot is wide at the instep and toe box. But, I have low heel volume. I had challenges getting fitted for new skates. I had to go with a wide boot to make room from the front of my foot. But, I was getting some heel lift when skating. My local skate shop recommended trying Superfeet Comfort insoles. It helped my heel lift issue. So, I decided to try the Carbon version. They are not as comfortable as the comfort version; but, still comfortable enough. And they seemed to "eat up" just a bit more volume in the skate, and now my new skates fit great. I also feel like I'm getting a performance improvement. My skates feel more responsive, which make sense considering the construction of these insoles. I'm recommending these Superfeet hockey insoles to everyone I skate with. I'm impressed.

Worked for me!
My ice skates were just a bit too big, so someone suggested I try these out. I went with the Carbon Pro Hockey as they were on a decent sale. They fit very good, but I could now feel the eyelets poking the top of my feet. It also raised my heel slightly. Was a bit nervous to skate with them at game time. But wow, once I hit the ice the skates quickly broke in again and I couldn't feel the eyelets. Skates actually felt much better. Not sure if it improved my skating ability though :) About 2/3's of the way into the game, my calves started burning up. Most likely due to my heel being raised up slightly and calves getting worked out a bit more? These worked for me!
