limited ingredients, dog likes it, keeps her weight and less itching
I tried this food because my dog has itching problems and it has limited ingredients in it and it was recommended by the manager at Pet Supplies Plus, who also has animals with food allergies. I buy it here only because there is a discount and its delivered.I think it is a great food because It says on the front it is limited ingredients and the label lists the ingredients as well and there is a whole line of dry, wet and cookies all with limited ingredients so its easy to tell if this will work with your dog and you can tell more easily what is causing the allergy to weed out the culprit. My dog loves this food. It costs more but it maintains her weight and still keeps her full and it keeps her from being itchy. I tried other foods she itched real bad and gained weight and got "love handles" and I was hardly feeding her anything and she was exercising in agility classes. Her stool is firm and formed but dark from the sweet potatoes. Don't be alarmed by the dark color. A similar food Wellness has (white potato I think) potato and fish (salmon) It did the same for her and I was equally happy with it but her stool wasn't as dark.Wellness was sent to me by accident so I tried it just to see. When I checked the price of Wellness it was the same as this foodI like that Natural Balance has can food to give as a treat and cookies or biscuits and use this Limited Ingredient line for my dog and she maintains weight and less itching. She has also eaten Backcountry Salmon Jerkey and loves it with no issues. Its at Petco and Pet Supplies Plus. It has limited ingredients as well.

Best food for my allergen prone pup!
I've been buying this for 2+ years now. Shortly after adopting my Boston Terrier mix, I realized that the rescue from which I adopted him was feeding him this same brand, but a different variety that has since been discontinued, because he has an allergy to wheat & corn. I love how natural this food is. I'm glad to feed my pup the best food I can find. It is more expensive than other brands, but I'd rather invest more money to feed him well now, than to pay hefty vet bills dealing with health issues later. I also like that this brand does strict testing of every batch of food to ensure quality. This food is only sold in pet stores & feed/supply stores, as well as Amazon. This won't be found in grocery stores, big box stores, etc, not as of right now, anyway. Amazon has the best price of any place that sells it, & I love the convenience of it coming right to my front door with my PRIME membership. It ships inside a large box, which is somewhat odd, but the bag always arrives in mint condition! A somewhat gross side note, but something I feel well worth mentioning: Due to the natural content of this food, my dog’s solid waste breaks down in our backyard after 1-2 rainfalls. No poop scooping whatsoever makes me a happy furmama! [...] Any questions will be answered to the best of my ability.

Good stuff for dealing with food sensitivity
It's pretty common for dogs to gradually develop sensitivity to their food, if you stick to just one protein source, and one manufacturer. I'm a strong proponent of 'switching it up' - use different brands (always of high quality), and different protein sources, and rotate through them over time, or even just throw in a few bags of a different brand/protein source once or twice a year, then go back to your regular feed.Feeding your dog only beef, or chicken, or even lamb - at every meal, for years and years - will likely cause sensitivity eventually. Living creatures require variety. There are micronutrient even beyond the 'standard' ones of vitamins and minerals that cannot be guaranteed with single source, highly uniform foods. In nature, a dog (or cat, or darned near any creature) will eat a variety of different foods - based on their needs and availability. Manufacturers *have* to make their foods highly uniform - both in order to make it at scale, and to provide guaranteed analysis - it's just how the modern world works. But that limits variety, and can introduce micronutrient deficiencies.Because beef and chicken have been the primary protein sources used in commercial dog food for many years, even switching brands may not be enough to provide the necessary variety, if it's just one manufacturer's chicken base vs another. Plus, many 'brands' are just different names for the same manufacturer's products, with very minor variations in ingredients. So - that's a lot of preamble. Anyway, duck is a 'non standard' protein source. Far less often used as the base protein. Which makes it a good alternative to the regular stuff. Our German Shepherd Lillie developed sensitivity to the standard beef and chicken stuff - dry, itchy skin, which would cause her to 'worry' patches on her body, often her foot pads, to the point of bleeding. Switching to this cleared it up within a few weeks. We use this as our main food for her - but as above - from time to time, throw in a different brand, different protein source. Keep some variety in the diet - if even only to give that pup a new taste to enjoy!

Good value
My dog has severe allergies to poultry and grains and pretty much everything Under the sun and I had been buying a different brand of venison dog food at my local pet store. In the past year, there has been a shortage of venison(not sure of the reason they gave me) so I have to feed my dog alternatives which make her sick. I was happy to find this brand as an alternative a few weeks ago in my pet store but it was so expensive! Imagine my excitement when I decided to see if by any chance I could find the brand on Amazon! Honestly, for the convenience of home delivery and saving $8/bag vs my local pet store, it's Worth purchasing. I save money and my dog stays healthy. The food itself has minimal ingrédients and is grain free so my dogs allergies disappear quite quickly and she regains her energy. I highly recommend this brand. Well Worth it :)
