Ridiculous that they have changed this product so considerably. What happened to the coal tar version??! One wash the amount of hair fall with this was insane. You need to remove these reviews if they include the old product. This is a terrible move from nutrogena. What were you all thinking!!!!

To be honest, I'm really disappointed. The previous formulation with coal tar was my go to shampoo. Unfortunately, now that they have completely changed the ingredients, it has become less effective. As suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, I had to use the shampoo once a week or maximum twice. But this one's effect lasts maximum 18-24 hours and my scalps becomes itchy and flaky the next day, requiring 3-4 washes a week... There is only one alternative, which unfortunately costs tbe double... Neutrogena has completely destroyed their best product.. Update after a few months of use: Horrible shampoo, my scalp came back as flaky as it was before I started to use the coal tar based shampoo. I am paying for the extra expensive polytar shampoo now. This one is rubbish.

This does not work! Having used the old brown coal tar version effectively for many years now that has been discontinued I have had to try this version. It does not work! It does nothing to control symptoms so at this price it’s a pointless rip-off. Instead I can use a selsun-type product 1-2 times a week and then use a basic shampoo the rest of the time. The fact that the manufacturer still wants the same expensive premium for a product which doesn’t work is staggering and smacks of marketing over actual product purpose and quality.

I had been using your T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo for several years, but it seems to have been discontinued, as I was sent a different product a few months ago. I cancelled my subscription right away, but since it was suggested as a replacement, I decided to give it a try when I ran out of the therapeutic T/Gel. Unfortunately, my scalp reacted immediately, and I developed severe breakouts, which makes it impossible for me to continue using it. I now have two bottles that I cannot use and, unfortunately, cannot return through the usual process. I would greatly appreciate it if you could accept a return and issue a refund for one or both of them as a gesture of goodwill. Additionally, could you please confirm if the Therapeutic T/Gel is still available in stock? If so, I would be very happy to take a replacement or even purchase it directly.

Had been using the original version of this for years, the brown tar version, it worked great and done everything I needed. Having used the new version of this, the clear version, it’s now made my scalp worse. It’s now itchy and flaky. No idea why they’ve changed it but it’s now ineffective for me. Only positive I can give it is it lathers up well. Will no longer be buying and have to look for an alternative.

The replacement for the wonderful coal tar T-gel that is now discontinued. My scalp almost immediately became itchy and flaky again when I received this in place of the proper stuff on my subscription. So the subscription was cancelled. A pale (literally) imitation of the real thing, absolutely useless, and with barely any discernable scent. The only reason it gets one star is because that's as low as it goes. I used real T-gel very successfully for a decade and a half. One week with this and I'm searching for a replacement.

Look, I openly admit I'm no expert in supply chains relating to cosmetic products so I sincerely hope that the old coal tar formula was discontinued due to a shortage somewhere in the chain ('global coal tar shortage' anyone??). However the cynic in me thinks this switch is more to do with a lower manufacturing costs resulting in higher profits. Why? Because in all ways this is a vastly inferior product to the old coal tar stuff. Within 3 days of using it I was back to square one with regards to my scalp so I had to stop. I will not use it again. So there you have it, a change that no one asked for nor needed.

I've been using the old formula product (with coal tar) for years. Whenever I deviated from it my intensely itchy scalp returned. I am devastated they've changed the formula, removing the ingredient that made it one of the best shampoos for so many conditions. The new formula has left me with an immediately itchy scalp that's only worsening (now half way through a bottle). It doesn't make sense as to why they came to that decision, & now so many of us are having to go through the motions of buying extortionate products to sieve through.

I’ve been dealing with dandruff for the past 2–3 years, but after moving to Dubai in 2024, my hair fall increased and my scalp became even worse. I wasn’t sure if it was because of the water or the weather, but nothing was helping. I tried so many products, including Nizoral and other anti-dandruff shampoos, but none of them worked well for me. A few days ago, I saw a doctor on Facebook recommending the Neutrogena anti dandruff shampoo. I wanted to make sure I got the authentic product, so I searched for it on Amazon. Even though I wasn’t 100% sure if it would be original, I ordered it anyway because I was really fed up I couldn’t even style my hair properly for work. I received it the day before yesterday and have already used it twice. Honestly, I felt the difference immediately. After the second wash, my hair wasn’t frizzy anymore, and today was my third day using it. The doctor in the reel recommended using it for 3 days continuously and then 2–3 times per week afterward. I really wanted to share my experience for anyone struggling with dandruff. Give it a try you will feel the difference. It’s reasonably priced on Amazon, and so far, it’s the best product I’ve used for scalp issues. Highly recommended! ♥️🫶🏻
