Hanasaku Iroha the Movie ~ HOME SWEET HOME ~ BLURAY (Standard Edition)

Had no idea there was a series behind this, and now I'll track it down, but I found this highly enjoyable as a stand-alone movie. Good quality artwork, engaging characters, nice use of intercutting timelines to create drama. I was reaching for the kleenex box at the end. It reminds me a bit of My Neighbor Totoro, not in plot or details, and there's no magic, but in its focus on family dynamics and its peaceful fondness for ordinary people and their goodness and resilience, set in (an idealized) rural Japan. If that sounds boring of course, you should give this a pass.

This film has very little plot, but is a story of a mother, a daughter, and a grandmother... where no one actually talks to each other and yet a lot is said...I liked this film a lot.

These kids are too naive. Even though they can't get what they want when they do, accept the fact. The mother is a loving person at heart, trying to make a living and not neglect.

A slice of life quality anime. I was able to enjoy the movie even though I haven't got a chance to see the TV series yet.

This made me want a second season of the anime series much more so.

I enjoyed this anime. It has a good story and artwork. Voice is also good. It has English sub.

Loved the series and the movie. The series was really cute, had a good story, and I really liked the art. Same goes for this movie. If your a fan of P.A.Works, or are just looking for a good growing up/slice of life store, this is a good one ^_^
