I hope it's ethical to say that these are absolutely amazing
So I was actually prepared to lose our investment ordering these, because a very long time ago for another printer we ordered a knock off brand and they did not work at all. But bottom line we could not afford the 298 dollars for new ink cartridges. We don't use these for a business, we use these for printing off learning pamphlets for our children. We are living paycheck to paycheck and it was either going with these cartridges or scrapping the whole printer. I was a little tense loading these into the printer because they looked a little bit different than the original HP ones...and I'd never replaced the HP ones and the whole process was intimidating. I was sure it was going to leak everywhere when I pulled the little plastic tape, but nope! The yellow one smelled a little like rat urine so...I'm not sure if that had to do with the ink, but I was thinking in my head - nope, this is never going to work, when do knock off brands ever work, and how could it work being 1/5th of the price. What's the catch? Well, the next thing was turning on the printer and the HP software quickly alerted me these were not HP cartridges. I thought...this is going to be it, at this point, it's going to stop everything and I won't be able to print a thing. But no, I was able to print, and it came out in the same color to me. I don't highly scrutinize the exact tones of colors, but from what I could perceive the color was the same. And the children, the intended audience, didn't notice at all, if there was any variation with the color. I am too lazy to check this as it is not an issue for us. One thing was clear to me is that the colors were definitely not off in the way a person would think the colors would be off 10 years ago - like blue is printing out green or anything. Maybe some artist somewhere can tell that there are some nuances in difference but for us we were like WOW, it WORKED! I don't know if we've done something unethical though. This is my only hesitation. Buying these knock of brands probably hurts the HP company. I met a very nice engineer who was laid off from HP about 7 years ago. But that is just the thing - he was laid off. The company clearly did not respect its employees. So if I thought that the company was spending the difference between 60 dollars and 289 on its employees, and on making sure the product stayed functioning and competitive, I would consider more seriously saving up over a year or something enough to buy the fancier ink, thinking, at least this company is using this difference to pay its local engineers, and to provide for families, and to build the kind of world I want to live in. But knowing full well HP laid off those people with total heartlessness makes me feel like I would just be a fool to pay HP 289 for their extremely expensive ink, which does not have the increased associated worth with it. In short since HP does not show this type of charity to others, why invest in them even if it's the original product made by their employees. But overall this experience also made me a little sad. I sat staring that the printer that I know was built by hardworking engineers with high attention to detail. I would have liked to buy the ink that would have supported those engineers, and their families, because ultimately the printer is an HP printer. Sadly, buying or not buying the ink does not support the actual hard workers at HP, just the heartless people at the top of the company. There is no way to help the people who actually brought us the printer. And so its a bit of a half hearted victory. Yay, we have knock off ink from China that works as well as the American counterpart. But the actual innovators and people who sacrificed their lives to make this possible will probably never see the recompense they deserve this side of heaven. And in that, there is some sadness, and now it sort of affects my printing experience. But the ink is great.

very inexpensive comapred to HP with decent colors
Update July 2, 2020 Even a year after the purchase, could not believe the company tired So very hard to correct this problem and I did not expect to receive a replacement which I did. So I unpacked it and printed side by side the 10 times more expensive HP new toners on my other new HP479 printer and compared it to my older HP227 with the replaced Valuetoner and as you can see both prints are good in their own aspects but for the value Valuetoner wins hands on and if I get many months of usage then that is good value and high rating for me and due to the outstanding customer service ... I am re-rating to 5 ๐ Old review ... I bought this Valutoner about 11 months ago and used it for home use here and there. it worked for few months fine with decent color quality. then the magenta cartridge started leaking it had been a while since I bought it and I simply put up with the defect but as of late it got to a level where it not usable so I am putting this review for the benefits of others. I did not send it back as it was not worth my time for the low cost I paid ... others had good reviews on it that is why I bought it, maybe I just had a bad batch. Update on 6/16/2020 surprisingly company contacted me even though product was bought 11 months ago and offered to replace the believe it is rare situation and are working with me to rectify ... all fixed and good now ๐

Disappointing Shelf Life and Quality.
So I shelfed this for about a year and it did not last. Basically trashed my printer. Now I need to take it for service. Iโve been trying to mess with it for almost a year and dealing with the super poor prints because they havenโt been important. So basically in about 2 years Iโve used less than a 1/4 of the ink in each cartridge. Mostly resorted to using my inkjet for anything important. Because these put streaks all over my prints, and they are nowhere near the quality they should be. At first I thought it was an HP update issue, but Iโve looked into that. Itโs not. Iโm using a M277dw. I donโt remember ever having an issue in the past with this brand, we use a TON at work, so I probably got a bad batch. But also, we donโt let them sit for long at work either. Very disappointed and will probably purchase an alternate brand for myself from now on. If it goes well, Iโll probably convince work to switch also.

Good Value
For the price, I'm not complaining about these cartridges, and will buy them again. Bought these back in 2019 to replace the original ones that came in my 277 printer. Reason I use them is because laserjets don't dry out like ink does, and I don't do a lot of printing, so these suckers can just sit around collecting dust. Printer is my normal at home printer, but nice to know I don't have to replace ink every time I need to print something, because it went bad. No issue installing or printing with these cartridges. As soon as I put them in, everything worked like normal, and printed fine. Again, these have been in there since about spring 2019. About a month or so ago, noticed magenta splatter all over papers coming out. I mostly print in b/w, not color, so that cartridge is like 90% full still. As you can see by the picture, looks like something caused it to malfunction, not sure what though. It just sprays magenta dust over everything, even if printing in b/w only, it comes out covered in magenta dots or full on streaks. Aside from that, no other issues. All the other ones seem to be working fine, so could just be a flaw in that one cartridge, or the fact that I let them sit around forever, and print stuff off like once a month. Either way, placing an order for more. Still cheaper than what HP wants.

Perfect for my printer
This is my second time buying them and they last more than the original brand. I highly recommend. I have no issues with my printer compatibility which is a HP Laser Pro M252dw. Great price.
