Durable and Versatile, the Press Itself Does Most of the Work! Love it!
This cast iron tortilla press is an excellent tool that delivers on both performance and value. It’s surprisingly versatile, I originally got it for tortillas, but have since used it for pie crusts and dumpling wrappers too. The press is simple to use, just place your dough ball slightly closer to the hinge (vs. the middle), close the lid, and press down with the handle. It flattens dough evenly into a nice circular shape that’s hard to replicate with a rolling pin, and does so quickly and consistently. The cast iron has a solid, heavy feel that actually works in your favor, you don’t need to apply much force to get great results. It comes pre-seasoned, which is nice, and while mine didn't have any rust or issues, I still recommend giving it a quick light oil coat every now and then to maintain it. Using parchment paper between the plates also help keep cleanup nice and easy. The handle feels sturdy and reliable with no signs of stress or cracking so far, and the flat, compact design makes storage easy, even with the handle still attached. All in all, works beautifully, and feels built to last. Definitely worth a try in my opinion!

Works Like A Charm.
I actually didn't order this to make tortillas. I was watching a cooking competition and a chef used a press with a big pork chop to flatten it. It made me think I could use it for chicken cutlets and pork chops to make them nice and thin.It works like a charm! This press is wrought iron and really sturdy. I will last for years and is so reasonably priced. You do have to attach the handle but that takes less than a minute and they include extra hardware. I will find many uses for this great product.

Heavy Duty and Makes Great Tortillas (But Get Ready for a Workout!)
I'm giving this Cast Iron Tortilla Press 4 stars because it does exactly what it's supposed to do: it presses perfect tortillas! The cast iron construction is undeniably robust. You can tell this thing is built to last and will hold up to years of use. I've been making consistently round and evenly pressed tortillas since I got it. The resulting tortillas cook up beautifully on my comal. However, and this is a big HOWEVER, be prepared for some serious heft! This press is super heavy. Like, surprisingly heavy. It's definitely not something you want to drop on your foot. While the weight contributes to its effectiveness in pressing, it also makes it a bit cumbersome to store and maneuver. If you have limited wrist strength, you might want to consider a lighter option, or enlist a helper! Also, I’d recommend investing in some parchment paper or plastic pressing sheets. It really helps prevent the dough from sticking and makes cleanup a breeze. I didn't do that at first and learned my lesson the hard way!Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The quality of the tortillas is worth the extra effort. Just be aware of the weight before you buy. It’s a solid, well-made product that will last a lifetime, but it’s definitely a workout tool as much as a kitchen appliance!

Game changer for homemade tortillas!
My husband gifted me this cast iron tortilla press after watching me hand-roll corn tortillas one too many times — and it has been a total game changer in the kitchen! It has saved me so much time and effort. There was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but nothing major. I figured out that using a gallon-sized Ziploc bag (cut open on the sides) as a liner prevents the dough from sticking or tearing. I also had to experiment a little with dough portion size and pressure, but now my tortillas come out beautifully round and even every time. This press is solid. It's heavy-duty, made from quality cast iron, and it feels like it’s going to last forever. Despite its weight, it’s not bulky — I store it standing on its side with my pans, and it fits just fine.My kids even love helping — they take turns pressing the dough, and it's easy enough for them to use. You don’t need a lot of strength to get a good, thin tortilla. One note: this works best for corn and cassava tortillas. I tried flour tortillas, but the gluten makes them spring back, so they don’t press as well. Still, for corn tortillas, this is absolutely perfect. We’ve used it many, many times already and I can’t imagine going back. A must-have tool if you make tortillas regularly!

Nice little tortilla press!
Works amazing. Made dumplings, and made tortillas with this. Works great. Happy I bought and would recommend. Nice weight, and durable. Good size for small to medium tortilla.

Mix, Press, Reapeat, Tortilla
It does what it says it does. The perfect tortillas come from practice and learning about gluten when it comes to forming the desired tortillas. It's all about the details. Mine where better by the 8th tortilla. Although, they say to roll the dough, I can't do as many as I would like. The press takes care of that. Cleans easily, stores conveniently, and is a sturdy press for home use.I bought one as a gift then bought myself one.
