Absolutely does what they say it does
We used this cooler on a 4000 mile trip over 2 weeks and it worked great. I put it in the back of the van where we could easily access it through the back doors and it kept Our Favorite Drinks cold the entire time. We left it in the van plugged in the entire trip, even overnight, and it never drained the battery. It was set to medium batter saver so the cooler shuts itself of when battery voltage goes below a certain threshold. The drinks were around 54 F in the morning but once the van was fired up it cooled right back down to 34 F in an hour or so. It was so nice having what we wanted to drink, not what some gas station, truck stop or rest area was selling, available to us. And the drinks were much colder than you can get from a convenience store cooler or rest area soda machine. The ice maker works great too, it makes enough ice for 2 - 14 oz glasses, we didn't use it on the trip but I tired it at home on 120 vac before the trip to test it out, it made ice in about 2-1/2 hours. It's pricey but I got it on sale at $800 and used a $200 gift card to get it down to $663. Not having to deal with ice, drying off wet drinks and dumping the water every day is, IMHO, well worth the cost. In hindsight we probably could have gotten by with a smaller one but hey, we put homemade dip, candy, drinks and all kinds of other stuff in there :-)>

Best upgrade to car camping ever!
Bottom line is this is a great electric cooler/portable refrigerator/freezer. It cools fast. It stays cold. Itโs very quiet. I slept next to it in a tent and it was barely noticeable. It has a ton of space, more than enough for 2 people camping for 1 week. It was a treat to be able to open milk and hummus and veggies and deli meat put them back in and never have to worry about forgetting ice and finding them warm and floating in water. Every day you use it you save $10-15 on ice and probably $20 on food that doesnโt go to waste. At the end of my camping trip I put all the left over food, milk, eggs etc right back in my fridge at home. Also the iPhone app is great! Itโs easy to set and check the temp and it warns you if you loose power or the temp goes up. Only cons are: -pretty heavy when full. I wish it had wheels. -too expensive The price is painful. I love it, but I almost decided to take a shot at one of the cheaper but unknown brands on Amazonโฆ. In the end, I preferred the trusted Dometic brand. This is my favorite purchase of 2021 so far.

Great Refrigerator!
Use in the Jeep for any items you want to keep cool. Has a feature that allows you to make ice or keep something frozen. It works well. We donโt use it with a slide out tray. We do secure it using straps between the handles and the tie down points in the Jeep. This fridge is really quiet and cools very well. The lid has a latch and seems very strong if you wanted to use it as a seat. I also have an ARB fridge, it is a good product, but it draws more energy. We use this with an EcoFlow battery and it works great.

A disappointing failure - 12 Volt function quit after 6 weeks
This CFX3-55IM was an upgrade from my Dometic CFX because it makes ice cubes. It worked as expected and I liked the remote control with the app. After 6 weeks use the 12 Volt function stopped working. 120 Volt still works but it was extremely disappointing to lose the use of the cigarette lighter power option while being in motion. I was expecting the same longevity, performance and endurability I experienced with my old CFX-50. Because it was not possible to contact a real person to get help or advice at Dometic I am now back to using my 9 years old but reliable CFX-50.

A real camper van upgrade!
I used a 55gal cooler for a long time because I was concerned about the power requirements of having a true refrigerator in the van, but this thing changed the game for me. This thing uses practically no power 90% of the time and stays amazingly cold all the time. If I plug it in DC to a fully charged 1000Wh solar battery it will run for well past 1 week. I don't know exactly how long because I've never let the batter pack run down that low. It silently sips power and, after 1 full year is one of my favorite and most reliable upgrades to my camper van.

An amazing cooler!
I have used good ice chests for years, but there's always the problem of getting ice. Even the best of them are only good for a couple of days if you actually use them. So, along come electric coolers. No need for ice, and you can put in more stuff because half the space is not being taken up by ice. My truck has a convenient 120v AC outlet in the back. It only puts out 100 watts when the engine is running, but that is plenty for this cooler. For other times I bought a Jackery power supply and solar panels. This wasn't a cheap upgrade, but I think it was worth every penny. Dometic is a very well respected name in RV refrigerators. In fact it's running in the back of my pickup right now from the power supply and cooling 54 beers for the big dinner tomorrow (unless I sneak off with one or two). Best purchase I have made since I don't know when!

EVERYDAY USE
We use this every day. We place meats basically in here and it keeps the food good and frozen. Make sure you freeze the box first before placing the goods that you want to be frozen. I have had this box now for about 10 days or so and so far so good. I have only used it indoors, but the quiet machine sits and does its thing. The ice maker works so, so, just don't go into it thinking you're gonna get ice right away. I purchased the jacket that goes on it and I think the summertime will benefit the cooler more than if I didn't have the jacket.

Works well!
Bought this for extended road tripping and extra refrigerator for our fifth wheel trailer. For our first 3100 mile road trip (Route 66 from Saint Louis to Flagstaff, no fifth wheel) we paired this with an Ecoflow River 2 pro power station. We prepare a lot of food on the road, mostly breakfast and lunch. This CFX3 55IM kept everything cold just like a home refrigerator. We would plug in the cooler and charged up the power station overnight in the hotel and start with a 100% power station charge every morning. Once on the road we plugged the cooler into the power station all day. When we left the truck to sight see we did not have to worry about using any of our truck starting battery. 8-10 hours of operation used about 20-25% of the power station battery capacity. The cooler runs between 55-60 watts. The only thing we had to be careful about is that the 12V plug into the power station was not extremely secure. On bumpy roads we had to push back in the connector once in a while, but other than that and the price, very happy about the performance The only complaint i have is less than 30 days after we bought it, when we got home from our trip, it was on sale for $200 less than we paid. Go figure! we paid $1065, on sale now for $865. BUY IT NOW WHILE ITS STILL ON SALE!!!

The best fridge in all the land
I can't believe I waited this long to buy one. Gone are the days of finding my soggy sandwich floating in my cooler. So quiet you can barely hear it running, yet so efficient it will run all day on my trucks battery. The automatic shutoff is nice, I've never ended in a position that the engine wouldn't start in the morning. 100% recommended to anyone that does any sort of camping or who works from their vehicle.

Great freezer
It can be a freezer or a refrigerator depending on what temperature you set it at. Works excellent both ways and I had it in a tent during the heatwave this summer with no issues at all. I can say that the โice makerโ part is kind of silly because it is just two tiny ice cube trays. I switched them out for larger trays and it they freeze no issues.

Pricey, but no regrets
We live in a rural town. Although pricey, we felt this fridge was well worth it after our recent camping trip. We tent, and running this off an electrical site was a breeze, no anxiety about ice melting in coolers or eating food before it goes bad. Additionally, great for use when doing Costco runs to the city, keeps frozen stuff frozen until we get home.

Not worth it.
These guys will charge you a 20-50% restocking fee plus shipping fees if you need to return it. Not worth it, go buy this from a physical retail store.

Working and quiet.
It is working and quiet. The pairing process is a little bit weird, but I got it work finally. Will update the reliability in a few months.
