I purchased this player as a replacement for an M0 (gen1) I had misplaced and am M3s that failed (after 7 years of yeoman service). I have everything I liked about each of the other players in this little gem: the large capacity and small form factor of the M0, and the dual DACs and high quality audio - balanced or not - from the M3s. The menus are small, true, and custom EQs are hard to configure due to the scale, but the output and battery life are amazing, and my IEMs sound better even than on either of the other units. The sound is very slightly warm, but details are crisp and the dynamic range and response superb. I haven't played with the Eddict Player app yet to manage the finer tuning, although that does look promising. All in all a quality device worth every penny.

My opinion is the physical design is much improved from the previous model. The scroll wheel does not stick out as far, and seems less susceptible to being damaged. There are also indentations on each side of the player, allowing it to be be held more securely. I returned a first gen M0 mostly because of the older design flaws, and have decided to keep this newer version. However, there are some short comings. The user interface seems to be the same as before, which is ok, BUT, I will confirm as mentioned in at least one other review that the touch control is not the greatest. Swiping left and right seems slow, and swiping up and down goes SUPER FAST. You have to be very attentive to keep it from going from A to Z in a split second. The player came with a screen protector installed, which I removed hoping to improve the touch performance, but it didn't. I'm positive this can be fixed with a firmware update, because I have a Fiio player that had the same issue which was eventually fixed with a firmware update. Whether they address this problem in the future is unknown. I am no audiophile, but my opinion is it sounds very good. The battery as mentioned is not that great, but it is very small, so I'm not sure that can be improved, especially while using Bluetooth. As mentioned, wired and Bluetooth sounds good to me, but I have always had problems with the Bluetooth connection on ALL music players while they are in my pocket, and this player is no different. While holding, or resting on a table the connection is fine.

It is wonderfully small and cleverly designed. But used as a digital player sending the FLAC files to a DAC depletes the battery in less than 45 minutes. I bought a second one thinking the first was defective, but no, it did the same thing. Maybe wonderfully small is a bad feature of something that is battery powered! Updated review: I returned one and kept the other one because this cutie outputs a LDAC blue tooth signal which I can transmit directly to my miniDSP, so I kept one to perform the original function in a different way. It is true that the EXPANDED user manual (that you have to find and download) explains that how I wanted to use it originally was not a good idea - because it depleted the battery - but this isn't mentioned in the totally worthless mini-user manual that comes with the product. So with that understanding, it works great now as a file transmitter and it gets 4 stars (nothing is perfect)
