I bought these for my daughter and her friends and cousins to play with, as they like to play a lot of spy games together and I thought they would be fun for that. We were all very impressed with the clarity and features on the set -- they have certainly improved the technology on these things since I was a kid!-The volume was adjustable, and the signal stayed clear at all the volumes, without any static.-There were oodles and oodles of channels we could set to -- not sure why we needed so many channels, but they all came in clearly.-The display was no-frills, but was easy-to-read in different lighting and switching between settings and options was pretty intuitive.-Aside from putting in batteries (the set even included a little screwdriver for this -- very cool), the set is ready-to-use out of the box. There are some additional features, but if you don't have to do anything other than turn it on and make sure you are on the same channel as your buddy to use it.-It comes with a cool clip and lanyard, which attach easily. The clip came off a couple times, but I honestly didn't see if they fell off or if little fingers wiggled them off -- I assume the latter! At any rate, the lanyard especially is pretty cool because it allows the kids to climb around while listening for signals, and reduces the chances of one being lost. It also makes it easy to hang on the hook by the door, ready for another adventure!-These things are built like tanks, and designed with kids in mind. They are build for children-sized hands, the buttons are easy-to-push and don't stick, and the antenna and battery boxes are secure so they aren't going to fall off. My four-year-old nephew had a blast with it, and after hours of enthusiastic play, the set is still is great shape.-The set just looks cool. Again, it's designed to be child-sized and child-proof, but it looks and acts like a real walkie-talkie.-The range is impressive. I didn't test the full advertised 3 miles, but it worked very well from several blocks away. About a mile out for me it was crackly, but it was on the other side of a hill in a very heavily wooded area. I think it's likely that with a different setting and less hills/trees, it could get a further much range than I got. With all that in mind, though, these are a toy -- a very cool toy -- and not a safety device. They are extremely well-suited to outdoor/neighborhood games, but I wouldn't depend on these as a device to use incase I get separated from my daughter on a hiking trip, for instance.

Oh, man, I love these Walkie Talkies!! I would have loved to have them as a kid! My 4-year-old daughter and I run around the house talking through these without any interference or staticThey are very easy to use, great size for small hands and clear. I've been a little less than a 1/4 mile away with no drop in signal or voice (other than when my daughter forgets to push the button to talk). These are a lot of fun and seem very professional with sound clarity and distance for the price. Easy enough for a 4 year old to use too.

This is a nice set of walkie talkie for the kids. The sound quality is clear. Battery lasts for a whole afternoon of play time. This is a much better quality than the toy walkie talkie you get from local store. My son loves it. He can play with this cousins for the whole afternoon with this. The size is pretty small. Kids can hold the walkie talkie in their hands without feeling too big. It is a nice gift for kids.

Work great. Very clear, long range and long battery life.

Defective battery component. I had to return it.
