Infuriating !!
Let's be clear, this is a £4 add-on item - so it's never going to be 'Snap-On' tool quality....that said, you would expect it to do the job. My one did, EVENTUALLY!!The problem is twofold - the build quality isn't great; consequently, there's a degree of lateral movement in the screw thread (which is less than ideal if you're trying to "thread a needle") and the biggest problem is that the end-stop is symmetrical - so what you ask? This means that when you put the slightly wider chain alongside it's slightly narrower neighbour, the chain sits at a slight angle and the chain link pin then butts up against the end stop rather than being free to pass through it - you can turn the handle until you're blue in the face, but all you'll do it either strip the thread, break the pin...or your wrist!!Therefore, this item DOES work, but only if you're (1) exceptionally careful in aligning the chain, (2) exceptionally patient (especially if you split the chain in the wrong place - dohh!!!) and (3) built like Arnold Schwarzenegger (or use a screwdriver and a pair of pliers like I did!!).Buy it, but be warned!!

Broke after first use
This might be offered at a low price but the quality of the product is poor. The first time I used this tool one of the chain location lugs (inside the main body of the device) snapped off. This problem is caused by the use of soft metal (probably a Zinc alloy) for the part of the tool which holds the chain. I also noticed that there is excessive play in the pin plunger threads. This makes it difficult to use the tool to re-insert the chain links - I had to resort to using parallel action pliers instead. My recommendation: do not be tempted to save money by purchasing this tool. Spend a bit more money and buy something that will last longer.

My chain was quite old and it was a struggle ...
My chain was quite old and it was a struggle to push the rivet through the first link however the tool works well albeit a longer shaft to create more leverage would have made life easier.

safety warning.
its not very often i leave feedback for a product but thought i would do it on this one. its more of an health and safety warning than anything.product did exactly what it says with ease.extracted a pin completly in under 20 seconds.it also helped with rejoining the chain by pushing the pin in the last few millimeters.now for the SAFETY warning.when extracting a pin completly out, when it gets to the last few millimeters it shoots out like a bullet, there is no safety warning on the packaging, either wear safety goggles or point it away from your eyes.

Waste of money
Used it once and that was it. In trying to use again the threads gave way under pressure and became a bin item.

well not so bad
So far I 'fix' two chains with this tool with no problem, could be better but so far no problem, price is low and it does the job.
