Tricky to use, but fun!
These are pretty cool to work with. they are a bit tricky and do require practice to get right. I've tried to do these types of cuts before WITHOUT any aids and it's very hard. Using these made a huge difference in my ability to make long ribbon like cuts from cylindrical foods. I was able to easily make long strips of cucumber and carrot which then became matchsticks for sushi filling. The magnets are strong and stay on the knife blade well. They slid a bit from side to side along the knife, but that could also be from my technique or the food hitting them. The case is well made and fits the pieces nicely. Cleaning can be a bit tricky because of the magnets. They will stick to the side of the sink or cluster with cutlery.

Just a little practice

Still gotta know what you’re doing
These make it easier but you still have to be pretty talented to use. Also, a sharp knife is a must!

Use with a Nakiri!
My roommate and I are both vegetarians, so have an oddly insane amount of use for thinly slicing things in this manner, and nothing has been so clean and effective as this. Probably worth noting is I will go virtually any length to not have to manually matchstick or julienne anything, for that this is super handy. That said there is definitely a learning curve with this dude, and at the end of the day I would say it's essentially a tool for a larger nakiri, heavier is better imho, I haven't gotten this to work as consistently with any other of our knives. It would be nice of the magnets were embedded or covered somehow, but I haven't really had issues with this thus far, and all things said and done the build quality on these are really nice. ABS plastic is great, durable enough for this application. I love the little box they come in, awesome for storage and keeping them together. Really fun novel idea that helps to elevate our sushi/kimbap misadventures. I think given the overall aesthetic quality and packaging, this would probably make an awesome gift, especially for vegetarians, but I'd probably want to pair it with a reasonably sized nakiri in case the recipient doesn't have one. Kind of torn on rating, with the magnets and learning curve it's a little rocky, but I don't think it warrants rating it lower. Really fun and novel kitchen gadget overall. Super effective once you get the hang of it, and I truly have nothing else like it in our kitchen.

Build quality could be better..
Magnet was not attached on one of the two pieces.

POOR QUALITY!!!
The only problem that I’m having is that the magnets come off very easily. If they can make it better would be nice because the product helps for what is intended to. I bought the pack with the three different sizes and use two of them and one of each magnets came off. For the price I paid I was expecting something more lasting

Top quality Kappa Kanpeki adjustable vegetable, cucumber slicers. Great Value! Recommend it!
I recently got this set of 3 Kappa Kanpeki adjustable vegetable slicers, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. This slicer is available in three precise thicknesses—1mm, 2mm, and 3mm—and it truly sets the standard for quality. You use these slicers with your knives. The design is outstanding, and the construction is incredibly durable. It performs flawlessly, delivering exactly what it promises. The included QR code that links to a tutorial video is a fantastic bonus, making it easy to get started. While there’s a slight learning curve, trust me, it’s well worth it. The sliced vegetables and cucumbers taste nothing short of amazing! At just USD $39.95 (as of this review), the value this slicer provides is exceptional. I highly recommend this set—it’s an essential tool for any kitchen! Thank you for reading my review! I hope you found it helpful. My reviews aim to provide potential buyers with a comprehensive understanding of the product. I strive to share as much information as possible, often including pictures and sometimes videos. My secondary goal is to help sellers enhance their products while highlighting their features. Most reviews are written within a few weeks of receiving the product. These guides are so rad!!!
I was stoked to test these babies out after seeing some shorts on YouTube. These simple, magnetic knife guides take practice to get going. Once you get the coordinated motion down, you can achieve impressive results. The plastic is formed well and our knives don't dig into the slot. One minor complaint, I wish the magnets were encased in the plastic that way small food debris wouldn't get caught in the seams and clean would be easier, but it isn't a dealbreaker. The company's quick instuctional videos on YouTube were easy to follow. I practiced slicing several potatoes with a Chinese-style cleaver, Santoku, 10" carver, and a western style chef knife. The Santoku knife was the easiest to safely manage and yielded the most consistent result across all thickness levels, but I could use more practice. I feel the need to shop for a new Japanese-style single beveled knife now. I recommend these if want to level up your presentation game and have the persistence to keep at it, because the reward is totally worth the effort.
