I had been researching power inverters for Ego (as I had a few batteries already), and then put it aside... then the event came when I was going to need power, and I picked this up. It took about 90 minutes to remember why I hadn't picked it up in the first place. It isn't the sine wave issue (that's a problem with the smaller ones, and the reviews are blended together if you look at the battery-less reviews). The issue is that the 400W model will power down automatically, so can't be used for low drain stuff like running lights for hours unless you want to turn it back on every 90 minutes or so. And running a CPAP all night? Or keeping a crockpot warm? Stay away from this one. If you just need it as an occasional 100W USB-C charger, or short term AC, or as an extra charger for your Ego batteries, it's probably fine... but beware this HUGE limitation on use.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase. It outputs good AC, though I don't have an oscilloscope to test how clean the waveform is. AC boxfans work fine with no odd noise in the motor. Same with any kind of DC converters, I'm not getting any kind of weird noise, so must be pretty good AC generation. It seems to work with good quality. There is a small 1 second ramp up time before it gets to AC volts, I measured it at 119.4 volts and I measured 60.2Hz this was measured under no load though. So pretty good as far as I can tell The included 100watt USB C adapter does is drawing 99.8 watts from the wall so not getting a full 100w from the USBC end but close enough. The charger brick does get pretty hot, you couldn't hold it, makes me a bit nervous. You will need to use some kind of higher than standard output USB power to charge the batteries. I tried it with a 10watt charger and the batteries would not charge, and the charging battery actually started loosing charge. Somewhere between 30w to 100w is needed. I'm pretty sure the AC inverter is on whenever the device is on, charging the battery or using the battery to power something else. This would explain why the battery level drops while using a 10w charger. Just not enough juice to power the inverter while also putting energy into the battery. If you are looking for a power bank for USB charging there are better ones. This one has a single A port for 18w max out, a C for 18w max out, and a 2nd C 100w max in/out. The AC part is on all the time when you don't need it so it's kind of wasteful. But if you're already in the EGO system it works nicely, just keep in mind there's going to some efficiently loss due to the AC plug being on all the time, even if you're only using the USB ports. This could have been solved for a separate switch for the AC plug different from the USB DC power, idk why they didn't do that. The built in lights are nice I have used it a couple times just for the lights. There is a low mode and a high mode. Again the inverter is on all the time so you're wasting power even if you're only using the lights.

So nice to be able to power devices with same battery I use for my lawn equipment.

I have quite a bit of Ego equipment. It is so nice to be able to use the batteries to power lights, etc during out frequent weather-related outages. I have two of the smaller inverters which I use to power a single LED lamp each. This one has 400W, so I can run many more things at once.
