Will this reduce nitrates in my established cichlid tank?

I have been using this product for many years. I can't say if it does much to lower nitrates, but may help keep nitrate level from rising. Special Blend will help break down waste in your gravel - keeping the aquarium cleaner - reducing need to vacuum. The best ways to lower nitrates are by adding live plants, more frequent water changes, and reducing stock. I use API Nitra-Zorb to keep my nitrate level around 40 ppm (or less). Since my tanks are over-stocked, I am satisfied with that. I do not have live plants. I really like Microbe-Lift TheraP bacteria additive, too.

Is it suppose to have a lot of stuff floating in it or did it go bad? Just bought it yesterday and I don't know if i got a bad bottle ???

I have had film on the sides of my bottles, but when I shake it very well, it goes back into solution. I’ve never had anything floating when I pour it into my fish tank.
