Excellent quality casings, reliable every time These fibrous casings are top quality and work perfectly for homemade sausages. They are strong, easy to use, and hold up well during stuffing and smoking. Each one fits about the right amount as described, and the results always look professional. Lem makes good products and same goes for these casing. I use them and others when I can get them. I would and have re-orderd these.

Can't beat the price
These are a good value. I was paying up to $2 each for the same size (different brand) casing in a package of 6. These are a bit thinner than the $2 casings, but they have given me no problems, and are strong enough to pack the meat very tightly. They do stretch a bit when packed. I cook my sausage by slowly raising the smoker temperature to a maximum of180 degrees F and holding there until the sausage is 158 degrees. The casings are not affected at all by this moist heat, and come out as sound as when they went in. If the meat in your sausage recipe shrinks while being cooked, the casings will not shrink (much) with the meat, which means they will look a bit "wrinkled" after the cool down. You can prevent most of the wrinkles by keeping the air in the smoker at 100% humidity.

Casing was easy to prepare for use.
Casing was easy to prepare for use. The casing was well tied off on one end with strong string and premade loop for hanging finished sausage with the hook. BUT, I was very surprised that the string to tie the other end of the casing was not included with this sale.
